Need to replace handle on GE Spacesaver Microwave J VM130K 004.

The door handle was never available as a separate part. See this diagram.

You'd have to order an entire new door, which is part number WB55X724 and it's really expensive, of course.

Very angry. Fairly new, little-used Spacesaver Microwave [3][Clock][Surface Light] buttons now do not work. We never even press [3], just [1] and [2] to warm sandwiches.
Unplugged for an hour. Still not working. Everything else works. We never use anything else. Bad solder joint in circuit board or keypad?

Actually the door handle CAN be replaced at a cost much less than pruchasing an entire new microwave oven. And, YOU can repair this yourself and save the cost of a service call. On MOST microwave ovens, you just have to remove the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. The following link explains how to replace the door handle:

If the model number is correct, the part number is WB15X322. The cost is about $40. Replacements may be purchased at the websites listed in the link I provided.

To access the door handle mounting screws, you have to remove the inner door panel that goes around the perimeter of the glass. You can use a small screwdriver to simply pry the plastic up and work your way gradually around the perimiter of the glass. Most microwave ovens have grooves in the panel that you can insert the screwdriver into. Use care not to pry against the glass. The glass is tempered and also has an RF shield that prevents harmful microwaves from potentially harming the consumer. If you break the glass, you will need to purchase a new door.

The door handle screws are located behind the inner panel. Simply remove the broken handle and install the new one. Re-insert the inner door panel carefully and gradually work your way around the perimeter of the door glass and make sure it snaps back into place.

Its a free country Bage, but microwave energy is extremely dangerous! Repairs are not feasible unless performed by factory personnel under warrantry, and certified. I suggest you contact the manufacturer about the problem.

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the previously hidden screws you need to remove.

Yes you can get parts. Sears or GE can sell you a new handle but depending on the cost it may be worth getting a new microwave. If you do it yourself, it should be fairly easy to replace otherwise Sears can probably fix it for you or they can tell you easily what to do if you get stuck or you can just ask me here.
