When I turn it on it acts like it's gonna come on then it doesn't the lghts around the Ipod holder just flash and it cuts off

If you go jvc .com enter your model # ,there is an article on how to reset the tv. First you have to unplug your tv for 10 secs., plug it back in and press and hold the menu and vol- buttons while holding these buttons in press the power button once, count to 3 and release the menu and vol- button. The lillte blue light should be on. wait for 40 secs. the picture should now come back on. This worked for me, I had the same trouble

JVC Mod #LT-42P789. Screen is damaged, need replacement screen.

Bad news; the cost of the panel and labor will be close or equal to replacement cost for the whole set.
If you are lucky, you might find a used 'pull' at the site below:
Jimmy's Parts
Asian labor has made nearly everything 'disposable.'

Where is the inverter board and wut does it look like? JVC LT42P789.

Inverter board is attached to the screen panel on the left or right. the way you reconize it is by locating several connectors coming from the screen into that board. The inverter board sends power to the screen lamps so when you turn your tv on its bright enough to see the picture

JVC 42 inch LCD HD TV has no picture or sound

utencilio posted this fix. It worked for my JVC LT-42X579.

Okay, I found a fix! Called JVC, spoke to somebody there, here it is:
1)unplug the TV completely, no wall no power strips, completely
2)wait 10 sec
3)plug TV back in and Turn it on, the light will still be doing the same thing
4)wait 30 sec
5)ON THE TV, not the remote, locate the menu, volume (-) and power button.
6)while simultaneously holding down the menu and volume (-) button, pressed the power button ONCE and continue to hold the other 2 for 10 sec.
7)on the remote control, go to menu>settings>system info
*** now this I know as a FACT will work on systems that display: JVC - ver.5.32FO001, but I don't know of any other versions***
8)press the mute button on the remote twice
9)unplugg TV again and wait 10 sec.
10) plug TV in and turn on

It SHOULD be working normally now... Thanx to the guys a JVC support for this one, I know it seems like an obvious first place to look, but sometimes it isn't. I for one checked online forums first
