What could be the cause for severe resistence on the motor when the machine is set for sewing. it works fine for bobin loading.

Depends on your machine (no make/model provided). If it is a vintage machine, frequently they seize due to lack of cleaning and oiling. The old oil solidifies and locks up the machine.

It was working now it seems to be frozen the needle part wont move

How do i rethread the bobin

You have to get the machine to switch its gear to wind the bobbin instead of sewing( needle up and down). There are two ways most machines do this...on older or simpler machines you pop the wheel that makes the needle go up and down ( right side of the machine) either in or out! There may be a round knob in the center that pops in or out... Other machines make you move the rod that the bobbin sits on for winding move or swing to engage the gear. There should be a path for it to slide along if that is what your machine does. Good luck!

Winding a bobin

That's how that machine works. You don't loosen the hand wheel or anything, Simply put the bobbin on the winder and go.

Sewing machine motor works but needle wont go up or down.

Make sure you tightened the smaller wheel in the big wheel after
making a bobine, if it is loose it deactivates the needle movement.
Good luck !

I CANNOT PICK UP THREAD FROM BOBIN TO NEEDLE. I HAVE CORRECT THREAD ON MACHINE AND BOBBIN-BOBIN IS IN CORRECT NEEDLE IS CORRECT. THE MACHINE I HAVE IS THE 3230 ELNA AND it SEEM TO BE SOMETHING WRONG WITH...

* Try to hold the end of the top thread towards to the back of the machine while you turn the hand wheel towards you .* Have the tension on top set to four.
* Check the bobbin tension. It should be set to set to four. This is an equivalent pull with the above tension.
*If this doesn't work the machine will need to be "timed" properly. Your local repairman can help.

I have a Singer 7462 and when I try to load a bobin, the machine makes a nasty grinding noise and the needle slowly moves up and down and ultimately all of the lights on the stitch selection panel flash...

Ok, this is pretty common. Disengage the machine (as if you were winding a bobbin) run the machine at high speed for 5 minutes.
The motor is dirty and this will clean it out. You should hear the pitch of the motor change as the minutes go by.

Thread keeps breaking while sewing

If you have a manual look for checking the tension. Or it may be it is threaded wrong.

The machine stops working and the handle will not turn

make sure you have properly lubed the machine ... your trouble is likely lint buildup or a scrap of cloth blocking the rotation of the mechanism under the machine ... you will have to take off the sole plate and remove anything that shouldnt belong there .. if that is not enough you may have to remove the bottom and check ... make sure the needle is going thru the sole plate hole and clearing the foot ... if its not then check for a bent needle or one that is in backwards (with respect to the flat side) .. you can check the motor to make sure its working ok by putting the machine in the bobin winding mode .. that disconnects the motor from the internal mechinism ... only the handle should turn in that mode ..
