Motorola handsfree kit

I have just had a motorola HF 850 handsfree kit installed by halfords here in N.Ireland, got it installed and the lot cost me £64.00 as its a discontinued line. System works fine when paired with the wifes phone but whenever i jump in the car with my phone i then have to re connect the blue tooth connection manually then whenever she gets back into the car with her phone she has to re-establish the blue tooth connection all over again. If you only ever had to use the same phone the system works a treat, but there dosent seem to be an option to alternate between one phone or the other like a handsfree kit i had a number of years ago.
any help out there or should i have splashed out another £60.00 and bought a parrott..?????? and then i could have gone between one phone or the other.

These kits are not very good and they are old, you are also unable to update software to work with new phones and the mic quality is poor.
go to your paired devices on your phones and change the hf850 to not connect automatically on both the phones, this may work.
If you can get a full refund and only pay the difference for a parrot it will be worth it. Also look at the THB Bury kit.

Loss of visual display on my hands free kit

It will require a power cycle, you will need to unplug the Parrot kit and wait a few minutes, then try again. If you have a remote for your kit then you must have a MKi kit which can be updated via the USB port, details are all on the Parrot support web site. You can also view a list of accredited Parrot engineers on their web site if you would prefer someone to look at it.

I have a Vauxhall Insignia SE which comes with all the steering wheel/dashboard controls for phone connectivity. However, I did not get the factory fitted bluetooth option. I wanted to install this now but...

Halfords Parrot kits integrate into the system all beit the steering wheel controls dont work. The audio is muted for incoming calls and the car speakers are utilised. Works well.

What to do

If you are sure that the handsfree system in your truck is an IHF1000, then long pressing ( >2s ) the center "talk" button on the IHF1000 will put the system into pairing mode. Follow the instructions that are spoken from the kit - have your phone scan for handsfree devices then, find the IHF1000, select it, then enter "1234" for the passcode and complete the pairing.
