If the black marks are in teh same place every time and you are putting teh page on the exsposure glass give the galss a clean as there could be some ink or dirt on it .. if the marks are moving across the page it could be down to the drum being marked or if he marks are spaced a bit wider it could be the fuser has a mark on it check these as well.. if the mark is a line look at where the paper goes through the document feeder check the thin **** glass it passes over to make sure there isnt any tipex or ink left on it.. all the glass can be cleaned with regular glass cleaner and a soft cloth

Check the machine for a **** or dust glass above the drum.
Check and clean coronas, the wires and shells may be dirty reducing charge.
Run a few white copies, to check of the toner / carrier ratio is low.
Pretty sure you need to replace the drum cartridge. When the drum blade goes bad or edges of the drum go bad it will cause this issue. You can stop a copy as it is passing thru and compare the edge as it is being transferred to the drum and what is on the paper to see what I am talking about.
I can be more specific if necessary

F2 - Black toner supply trouble
Try a different toner cart, remember to
shake the cart. before installing. Power the machine on and off and
check. Check the sealing tape has been fully removed from the
cartridge as well as the green colored plug.
Also, if you have an original drum unit
frame, change the frame with the new Modified version to prevent
arching at the rear cover of the drum unit against the inside back
plate of the machine. Check that the black dev. tank is not low
or empty, re-position both drum & dev. tank.
Is this new cart. an Original manuf. cart. or after market?? If it is an after market you have to read very carefully. You have to make sure it says, ' for use in' not ' can be used in'. The problem with SOME 'can be used in' products are that there could be just a slight difference in the part ( in this case the toner cart.). Take the new cart. out of the machine and install the old cart. back into the machine.... does the machine sound like old --- even if the device gives you a message like ' replace toner cart.' ?? If so you have a bad cart. or you may have installed it wrong. Try the new cart. once again but do not force. Does it work? If not contact the company you purchased it from and tell them the problem, most companies will work with you. Again, if you are buying after market supplies make sure if states 'for use in'.
Take the new cart. out and reinstall the old cart. Does the noise disappear? I would tap and shake the toner cart. BUT BE CAREFULL, the cart is ready to spill toner. On the box and in the instructions it tells you, or should, that you must shake and tap the outside of the cart. This is due to settling and the toner maybe packed. By tapping and shaking it will feel the toner. If the toner is packed it will put undue pressure on the augers inside the toner cart. and cause a grinding noise. If after tapping and shaking, reinstall the new cart. and check. If everything is ok -- great. If the noise remains contact the company your purchased the cart. from and ask for a replacement. These cart. are mass produced and mostly reused ( refurbed). Parts wear now and they do not replace the inside parts, they just repack with toner and seal.
Is "CH" steady or flashing? If it's steady, the door is not shut properly. If it's flashing, the machine doesn't detect the presence of the toner cartridge (defective toner cartridge). Try another toner cartridge (an empty cartridge will do).
To get the blue handle to stay locked sometimes takes fiddling with it when the cartridge is in.
You should replace the drum and toner cartridge if you haven't in the 5 years, that should take care of the lines. The only problem is the cartridges can cost more then the machines is worth... Hope that helps
one problem with this machine, a small pin comes out on the paper release handle in the back, which lets on side of the paper lift tray to come up higher than the other. might look in that area. good luck
