Slow Download Speed and Computer Wont Recognise The Hardware Sometimes

Ok, so got the adapter all connected up, and it's telling me it is going at 54mpbs, BUT my download speed for music wont go over 56kbps, [the settings on my downloader are all fine], whats going on? =S its really annoying, it makes streaming videos SO slow. please help. and another thing, sometimes, when i turn on my computer, it doesnt recognise the adapter, so i have to restart my computer five or six times before it will recognise it, the same thing happens with my belkin bluetooth adapter, but not with any other usb devices, any solutions are much appreciated =) [email protected]

May try to check the settings in your computer particularly in hardware device settings. May also it the kind of the USB you are using. Maybe it is and old model and your computer is or your computer is old model and your usb is a new model.Try to use another usb and observe the difference.

Computer does not recognise Scanner -- why not?

How old is the scanner? did you read for what Windows version it was made in the first place?
If it is for an older OS then Windows7 and you are using Windows 7 or higher, you ran out of luck.
Always first install the software that came with the device. The driver needed for the device is supposed to be on the install disk.

You have to be sure the computer has the correct software to recognise the hardware and can work with it. From Windows 7 and up, for all hardware that is certified with Microsoft, you can download the drivers from Microsoft. Lots of hardware is recognised when connected and will initiate a download from Microsoft. But not all hardware will do so and not all hardware is compatible (same as not certified by Microsoft from Windows 7 and up) with the new operating systems.

Most things that worked fine with Windows XP and or Vista, can fail with Windows 7 and 8, because the factory that made the hardware in the first place does not ask for certification with Microsoft for their old Hardware. They only spend time and money to get their new hardware certified on the new operating systems. So to make sure your hardware is compatible with the OS. Check the manual and find out, what you have to do so it will work on your computer.
If your device was working on a USB2 port, it also should work on an USB3 port, on the same computer. But don't expect another speed, because the slowest part decides the speed.

Annoying Wireless network connection problems!

Try changing the channel number in the router for the Wi FI add 3 to the minimum channel number.
It is possible you have a neighbour with wi fi and by adding three to the channel number you give some space separation to allow more bandwidth on the WI FI channel.
when this slow down occurs ping the router address (default gateway ip) and see if ping is quick. This will eliminate WI FI as slow point. Try using tracert instead of ping to see if bottlenecks occur in network or internet.

To increase the speed.

Click Start - run - temp click OK

Disable your antivirus program and see the speed.

Make sure you remember you passwords on the internet. Like your bank and emails password. Else dont try the below steps.

The connection speed is so slow. What can I do to speed it up (other than moving it closer to the router - that doesnt seem to help)? I am using another computer via wireless connection at the same...

There are a few things you can try.. Try switching the slow card to the faster system. If it still slow it’s the card. Sometimes the driver on the Install CDs that come with the card need updating.. Go to the manufactures web site and download the drivers and install.. Give us the make and model number and we will provide a link to the drivers.. But I really need more info.

Laptop wont recognise dvd drive after installing Vista

Hi Docpayton,  Sounds like you are having hardware connection issues.  First, i would try right clicking on 'my computer' and under that, go to manage.  Find the tab that says device manager and find your CD/DVD drive.  Uninstall the product/ or press delete. (whichever one it is)  Now your computer should immediately notice you have a cd drive and will install it for you.  I hope this works, because i havent had a computer with that problem in a long time, and i am running off of all i remember...  Tell me if you need anymore help.

Internet connection lost..

Firstly try the Off Line option, sometimes this can be ticked. Or go into the Netword Card settings and try to force the speed to auto config, this will enable different speed connections
