SOURCE: blinking red lights

Take out all the cables (HDMI,POWER,RCA,etc...) and then plug just the power back in and see if the TV turns on, and make sure when you take the power cable out, take it out from the back of the TV, when you plug it back in it should click.
If the TV powers up then try plugging in your HDMI cables and see if that works.

SOURCE: standby light blinks 13 times

Hi,
13 blinks is backlight error.. can be 1 of 2 things, 1st bad inverter board (on left side panel looking from back) it has several plug ins to the panel as it supplies voltage to the backlights.2nd could be panel itself as backlights are built into it they can't be replaced. Inverter is probably around $200 +labor, panel= buy new tv... they are outrageously expensive. Good luck!

SOURCE: LG 26LG30 screen suddently went blank. Light flashing blue/red

There are two places to look for the problems, the backlight inverter board and the power supply. Look at the power supply first since it is easier to get to, look for burnt parts, bad capacitors, etc.

Sony Bravia showing 4 red blinks any idea what this means, fault?

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Sony KLV-46S200A LCD TV doesn't turn on, it remains blank with the red standby lighthouse blinking 4 times.

According to the service manual page 6. four flashes is "Backlight Trouble" so if its the light it self or Backlight Inverter Board i cannot tell you.

Service manual can be downloadet here.

Red light blinks 4 times, no video or audio

Four blinks - No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505

TV won't turn on. flashes a series of 5 red lights instead of turning green

Usually Sony and LG Blinking Codes are the same. Here is what I have.
  • Unit is dead, No blinks - Problem in the standby power section. Might check fuse,
  • Continuous blink once a second, no pausing - No reply from the jungle IC301 (data bus is busy, shorted to ground, or held high), IK video path is defective.
  • One blink - not used for the self-diagnosis
  • Two blinks - B+ over current protection (OCP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 2 blink fault. Could be a short in the power supply of any of the circuits.
  • Three blinks - B+ over voltage protection (OVP), unit goes to the standby mode then displays the 3 blink fault. This is also a problem in the power supply circuit,
  • Four blinks - No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted.
  • Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.
  • Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately.
  • Seven blinks - High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits.
  • Eight blinks - Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code.
  • Nine blinks - Panel Module Error or Thermal Error. If it is intermittent 9 blinks, meaning sometimes the TV comes on and other times you get flashing Make sure the regulator is -12 or -13 (negitive).
  • Ten blinks - Check Q8014 and Q8013 for shorts, leakage, or bad solder connections on the " D" board. If the transistors are bad, check R8051 and IC8005, also on the "D" board.

There is no picture or sound just a blank screen

Thats the error for convergence failure. You can get the convergence repair kit for your model at the following link. The kit contains the parts and detailed instructions.

Sony 50 Wega LCD flashing red light

Hi

How many times is the red light flashing? The number of times the red led blinks means---

This is also a problem in the power supply circuit, check T603 and R672.
  • Four blinks - No vertical Deflection (V STOP), Screen goes to a single horizontal line then the video signal muted. Check IC1509, Q1505

  • Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.

  • Six blinks - No Horizontal (H STOP), no raster, goes to the blinking self-diagnosis function immediately. Check C515 & 516 and the jungle IC, IC206.

Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some projection models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 (flyback transformer), or the associative components in the high voltage circuits are defective on the D board.

  • Nine blinks - Replace D 6116 and D 6301 on the "G" board, do not resolder as this will fix the problem temporary. Or Panel Module Error or Thermal Error. If it is intermittent 9 blinks, meaning sometimes the TV comes on and other times you get flashing, then change the switching regulator on the "G" board or check connections. Make sure the regulator is -12 or -13 (negitive).
  • Ten blinks - Check Q8014 and Q8013 for shorts, leakage, or bad solder connections on the " D" board. If the transistors are bad, check R8051 and IC8005, also on the "D" board.
  • No blinks(Unit is dead) - Problem in the standby power section. Might check fuse, R607, Q601, IC601, R612 and VDR601 (should show open).

Power/Standby light blinks green then screen goes blank (off) for

I have a similar problem. Just found out a possible solution yesterday. I am waiting for my lamp but here's what you need to do if you have replaced your lamp. Go into self diagnostics mode: Switch of your TV via remote, you will see red standy by light. Now,on the remote press "Display"=>"Channel 5"=>"Volume Up"=>"Power Button". All these keys need to be pressed within 3 seconds. You will now enter the diagnostics mode. Press "Jump" on remote (bottom right) 3 times and then press "Channel 2" 9 times. The screen will display your current lamp hours used.

In order to reset your tv to factory settings and for the new bulb to work you must reset this timer or else your TV will assume you are still using the old bulb and will automatically kick in "over protection mode". So here's what you do once you do on the lamp hours display screen. Press the "Channel 3" button on the remote 3 times then "Mute" then "Press Enter" to reset the timer to zero. Your TV should now work as normal. And remember, whenever a part is replaced all factory settings must be reset to zero. To do this, follow "Display"=>"Channel 5"=>"Volume Up"=> "Power Up" to enter service mode. Finally, press "Channel 8" and then "Enter" to put the TV back to factory settings.

The above mentioned is usually performed by a service technician and they charge somewhere around $95 diagnostic fee. You just saved this charge. If you see flashing red lights count them when they flash in sequence. This is a code for the techs to tell them what is wrong. These flashing red lights sequentially flash from 0 to 10 times to identify a problem. Usually, when the bbulb goes bad the only thing that might need to be replaced would be a "lamp Driver" aka "Power Block Assembly" $116.25 online from Sony, or the ballast. Sometimes, if you do not have a video a Thermal FUse can go bad which only costs $4.80 for the KDF60-XS955 but the techs will charge you over $300. You can do this yourself if you can get your hands on a service manual.

Hope this info helps.

Good Luck to you all.

Sony KV34XBR800 Red Flashing Standby Light No Power

The red light should be blinking a code. For example it will blink 4 times pause then 4 times pause or 5times pause 5 times pause, whatever the error might be. Let me know what it is and then we can help more.

Slow record time/goes into standby mode

Hi,

It sounds as if it is working mechanically, but there is a software fault.

Try downloading a new driver for it (or use the CD which you may still have)

They are available free Here.

(Please contact again if this does not solve the issue; If it does, Please rata as Fixya! so others may benefit. Thanks.)
