The 204B screen is getting dim. At 100% Brightness it now only reaches 103 cd/m2. I'm aiming for 120. There are none of the standard symptoms of a power supply going. The screen doesn't flicker. It comes on quickly and rapidly gets to full brightness. So, do I need to replace the backlight itself? If yes/possibly what is the resource for that. Seems every "backlight repair" link leads to replacing capacitors on the power supply.

Hello,
This is not the backlight its the power supply board. We have a repair guide posted on our web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/samsung-204b-lcd-monitor-repair/ The repair consists of replacing 5 capacitors on the power supply board. If you can solder then you can do this repair. If you don't want to do the repair we do offer a repair service, you can get this information here: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/service-request-form/
I hope this helps, If so please rate our solution.
