The power amplifier section should be troubleshoot for shorted output IC or transistor. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here. Pull up older posts. Surf the site with patience. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/
It sounds like your output transistors are bad or power supply problems. You will need to have it serviced unless you know about electronics and how to repair them. Do not attempt this yourself unless you know what you are doing. It could be fatal.
I do not believe that these are available outside of authorized service centers. Can you please describe the problem you are trying to resolve? Also, Crown amps are not the simplest in design. Use caution when working on these, there are high voltages present throughout the chassis. You can contact Peavey Corp directly to purchase a service manual if they are available.
I have a working CE2000, I might be able to help you identify the value of the parts....please send me pictures of the part location and indicate with an arrow. [email protected]
The problem is not a fuse. The red light indicates that the unit is in "protect" mode. This means that a problem was detected in the final amplification stage and the unit is prevented from turrning on completely to prevent damaging either the speakers or the amp further. These are not the easiest to repair without prior experience and I would not suggest you attemt the repair. Please seek an authorized Crown repair center for assistance.
If it is surface mount technology(device) resistors you require, they are available most everywhere electronics parts are sold. What values do you need. You can get them direct world wide from Farnell Electronics But it may be a little work to sort the one you need. Best measure it up and go by dimensions to pin down the specific one you need. Good luck
Hi, probably worth fixing, Crown gear is generally reliable, but this one has failed for some reason. Puffs of smoke are not generally good... If it has blown an output array, expect a costly repair.
clipping as indicated by its light? if so then you have overdriven your output. i dont know about Crown their protection but normally such indication you have problem with either your load speakers maybe shorted but still audible or maybe your input stage overdriven also.
