"Re-attach the power source" but tape is stuck, door open

If you wish to try to remove the video tape yourself:

1. Unplug the machine from the electrical outlet and unattach the wiring/cable from the TV and any other electrical units (like a cable or satellite dish receiver.)

2. Unscrew the screws attaching the unit top to the rest of the machine. Note: There will probably be printing on the tape player combo warning about opening the player.

3. Remove the top. You will probably see the stuck video tape in the machine and may be able to carefully pry the tape cartridge out. Note: The video tape may be mangled in the rollers through which the tape runs. You may up ending damaging the video tape and/or the tape cartridge.

If you choose not to try to get the tape cartridge out yourself, find a TV repair business near where you reside, take the player there an let an authorized repair person extract the stuck tape cartridge and pay the repair price.

Note: Years ago, when I made my home "toddler proof" for a visit from my niece and her toddler son, after they left, I found I could not insert a video tape into my player. After taking the player to a repair service and paying the fee, the person at the business handed me my player and a plastic electric outlet cover which my grand nephew must have pulled out of an electrical outlet and stuck into the opening for the tape cartridge. After that, whenever I encountered problems with the video player, I took it upon myself to open the unit up. :)

I would not recommend trying to remove a tape that is stuck Because the eject and load mechanism is controlled by a motor and you have to supply voltage to in the correct polarity to get the camcorder to take the tape in or eject it, that means that you would have to disassemble it.
That is the case with all camcorders - analog, digital, new or old. If you need the tape I suggest sending it in to a shop If you can do the repairs yourself
Dismental the camera. Try to locate the power board. have a look at the components near the battery connector or the power connector. there you will be able to locate 3 to 4 safety fuses. check the continuty. if found open replace it or jump them and and try to eject it.
you can also try to locate the motor for tape deck loading mechanism. Remove the flex ribbion connector of the motor from the pcb, then try giving 3 volt supply from an external device to the motor in both the direction. in one direction it will move the deck outward, but be carefull when the cassette is being ejected a little portion of the tape may get damaged.

First take out the battery. Then start unscrewing the outside panels to take it apart. Basically any screw you find, take off. The easiest way not to loose them is by sticking them into the side of a box. After you get the camera panels off, you should be able to carefully get inside and dislodge anything that may be in the way. Once you are able to dislodge the cord or whatever is causing this problem. Try inserting the battery and ejecting the tape. Tapes commonly get stuck in cam operated transports. The belt gets too lose and can not turn the attached cam gear- it is easy to release a tape- you open the unit up and remove the power first. Find the pulley that has a loose belt on it and turn it by finger- do not apply a lot of force just about what the belt would do. At some point the deck will open. Then you can remove the tape.

Before doing anything the numbers on this code tell you to clean camera and heads.
After it should all be fine.

This is new for a sony camcorder technician. Here is what you should do. There may be a sticky substance holding the side tape door to open then the whole tray will go back down. Using battery, press the eject button when the tray is all the way up, disengage the battery to turn the power off. This way you will have the tape tray at posititon just before the opening of side door. With you finger nudge the door outward to see if it is just got stuck by substance. oN THIS VCR THERE IS 8SCREWS TO REMOVE THE COVER, REMOVE THE COVER CAREFULLY THEN PLUG THE CORD INTO THE WALL, THE CARRIAGE TRAY WILL ACCEPT OR REJECT THE CASSETTE. oNCE THIS PROCESS IS DONE AN THE CASSETTE IS REMOVED UNPLUG THE VCR AND REPLACE THE COVER WITH THE SCREWS

I attached the power lead switched on and then unplugged and removed the lead. re boot and the cassette door opened.

Okay I fixed my camcorder. I did a ggogle search and came across this solution which worked...I strongly suggest you do this. I whacked it two times on each side with the palm of my hand. IT WORKS NOW! I guess sony is aware of this malfunction and this is probably how they fix it....The error code is gone the tape plays. And it didn't cost me a penny.... The most frequent cause of this type situation is not having a power source attached, or a depleted battery pack. Once the power source is available, some models require manually unlatching and opening the cassette compartment cover. When the cover is fully open, the videocassette will eject automatically. Please try the following procedures. 1. Attach the power source to the camcorder correctly or use a fully-charged battery pack. 2. Fully-open the cassette compartment cover until it stops while sliding and holding the OPEN/EJECT switch. The videocassette will eject automatically after a few seconds. If the videocassette still will not eject, seek assistance from a Canon Service Facility.
