Frigidaire electric dryer model LEQ2152EE0 has power but wont start. tested thermostat, thermal fuse, door switch, and heating element all appear to e good. Any suggestions
Hello Dom - Being that you have narrow down some
possibilities, here are a few simple troubleshooting tips that may help you get
to the root cause:
1. Make sure the dryer is plugged into outlet, and
plugged in correctly.
2. Is house fuse blown or circuit
breaker tripped? Replace fuse or re-set circuit breaker.
3. Make sure that electrical circuit is not
overloaded and correct. The dryer must be on a circuit by itself.
Overloaded circuits can damage the dryer and possibly cause damage to
home. I would recommend reaching out to a Licensed Electrician check to
make sure it is on a circuit by itself.
4. Thermal limiter tripped or an internal problem
with the dryer. A thermal limiter automatically turns off the motor (electric
dryers only) in the unlikely event of an overheated situation.A service technician must replace the thermal limiter after
correcting the fault.
If these assessment measures prove to be ineffective, I
would strongly suggest contacting an authorized service technician who would be
better able to assist you in the diagnosis and repair of your unit. You can
often locate an experienced technician in your area by going to the
manufacturer website.

If im looking at my papers right, this unit is a stacker, correct? The element is directly behind the drum on Frigidaire units. You can I believe remove the top, then remove the front cover by removing two screws on the inside the hold it to the cabinet. I believe the element and thermal fuse should be able to be tested from the top. After you remove the top, the wiring should be on the right rear side. The thermal fuse is round, and has two wires going to it. It can be located on the element housing itself, or on the rear bulkhead. To test this fuse, you will need a meter that reads continuity (ohms). Just attach the leads and see if you get a reading (be sure to remove one of the wires). The element wiring should also be in the element housing. You will see the wires coming off the top (all by themselves, not attached to a thermostat). Testing will be the same way. If you have to replace the element you will need some help more than likely. The drums in Frigidaires pop out. You will have to remove the belt, then (with towels wrapped around your hands to keep all your skin) lift the rear of the drum up to pop it out of the bearing holder (like a ball joint). Then you just unscrew the element, and replace. Its not uncommon anymore for anything to break on these new units, in fact, 90% of my business is in warranty call, usually within 3 months of purchase. Sorry, but would rather be truthful than blow smoke. Good luck, and let me know if there is any other questions you may have.

Remove 1 wire from the element . Your 220 V comes from ...110 motor , 110 control board . Check which wire is not getting 110 V , trace it and see which it comes from . That will tell you which one is defective .

are you getting power down to the heater?why did you change all those other parts?you need to unplug the dryer, with a meter read out all the parts you changed out again but first make sure you have 240 volts coming to the machine, you can check it at the cord in the back, touch the white to the red,you should have 110 volts or 120,then go from the white to the black and you should have the same thing,if not the problem is in the house,if it's correct make sure you have power coming down to the heater, you could have a bad timer or a burnt wire, when you check the other parts unplug the dryer and whatever part you check at least one wire has to be removed,do this and you'll find your problem,if you did this first you wouldn't of bought all those parts.let me know what you find

Many times it is not a problem with the dryer itself. Just as in automotive and housing, when no one thing can be pinned down, look for the simplest and least expensive fix first. This would include a look at the wall plug and the power cable.. Ensure the power is off first, then unplug the unit from the wall. Check first the 220 power recepticle, then inspect the cable and all connections for signs of blackening or burnouts. Repair/replace all blackened or burned wires and cables as needed. Often times, even a dirty connection will not allow electricity to flow.
Investigate these areas if your dryer is not starting:
Proper Voltage from the House
Your dryer may not be receiving adequate voltage to start. Make
sure your dryer is plugged in. Also, check the circuit breaker panel to
make sure all the circuit breakers are in the correct positions. Or
check to make sure no fuses in the fuse panel are blown. Try plugging
something else into the same outlet. If it won't work either, then there
is likely something wrong with the power outlet. Any of these could be
the reason power is not getting to your dryer. Also, refrain from using
an extension cord to plug your dryer in.
Door Switch
If your dryer's door switch is defective, it will not
allow your dryer to start. Test your dryer's door switch. If it is
defective, replace it.
A dryer cannot start if its start switch is
defective. Test your dryer's start switch. If it is defective, you will
have to replace it for your dryer to start again.
A thermal fuse is a heat-sensitive fuse attached to
your dryer's exhaust duct (in most models) that is designed to blow if
the dryer overheats. A blown fuse would cause your dryer to not heat, or
to not work at all. Open up your dryer's cabinet and locate its thermal
fuse. Test the component. If it has blown, replace it.
A defective dryer thermostat could be what is
preventing your dryer from starting. Open up your dryer's cabinet. Test
each of your dryer's thermostats. Replace any that have become
defective.
Your dryer's timer will not function properly if its
motor is malfunctioning. Open up your dryer's cabinet and locate its
motor. Test the component. If it is not functioning as it should,
replace either the motor itself, or the entire timer assembly.
A burned out motor could be what is keeping your
dryer from starting. Test your dryer's motor and if it is defective,
replace it. You will have to open your dryer in order to gain access to
its motor.
