How can 8 get rid of A pop up that froze safari on my Mac ?

If you don't have a second backup browser (like Firefox or Chrome), follow the steps below.

  1. Restart your Mac holding down the shift key... that boots it into Safe Mode.
  2. Once it's up and running, open Safari... chances are, you may have downloaded and installed software that installed browser re-direct software.
  3. Download Firefox (if you don't already have it) and install it. It won't be needed, but this is for future issues if the same issue happens again.
  4. Google "Adware Medic", download and install the software. This app is a virus-free AppleScript that looks for browser re-direct software on your system.
  5. Run the software and delete what it finds. You'll then be prompted to restart your computer.
  6. Once restarted, open Safari. You're issue should have been resolved.
I hope this info helps!

There are a few things you can try if Google Chrome crashes or doesn't work when you try to download it:
  1. Check your internet connection: Make sure that you have a stable internet connection and that your computer is not blocking the download.
  2. Restart your computer: Sometimes, simply restarting your computer can resolve issues with Chrome not working or crashing.
  3. Check your antivirus software: Some antivirus software may block Chrome from downloading or running. Try temporarily disabling your antivirus software and then try downloading Chrome again.
  4. Clear your browser's cache and cookies: Clearing your browser's cache and cookies can help resolve issues with Chrome not working or crashing. To do this, go to the settings of your browser and look for the option to clear your cache and cookies.
  5. Try downloading Chrome in a different browser: If you're unable to download Chrome in your current browser, try downloading it in a different browser (such as Firefox or Edge) and then install it.
  6. Check the version of your operating system: Google Chrome may not work properly if your operating system is not up to date. Make sure you have the latest version of your operating system installed before downloading Chrome.
  7. Try downloading the Chrome offline installer: If you are unable to download chrome using the regular installer, you can download the offline installer from the official

Basically, you need to scan your computer using antivirus, and fix the messy registry with software utility. If you use Microsoft Internet Explorer, you may install or Google Chrome browser (www.google.com) because that malicious software took control of your MS Internet Explorer.
Here is the download links (they are trial software but they can really fix the problem; you can uninstall them later)
1. Norton 360 (download and run it):

My computer won't let me download anything

Most computer users can readily download files from the
Internet with no issue.

Yet, you may experience an error that will not allow you to
download anything from the Internet. Generally, you can readily resolve this
issue with some simple troubleshooting.

Check your antivirus settings.

More often than not, you simply have too strict of security
settings that prevent you from downloading files.

Otherwise, you can try a few other simple fixes to get your
computer to download files.

If you cannot resolve the issue by troubleshooting, you may
have a serious error that demands the assistance of a computer specialist.

Turn down your security settings.

Go to your browser\'s security settings.

You can change all settings to default or even low settings.

You may even see an option there for enabling downloading.

For example, Internet Explorer has a check box for
"enable file download."

Try to see if these looser security settings will allow you
to download files.

Get a new Web browser.

You may have installed your browser improperly.

You can reinstall your Web browser.

Alternatively, install a new Web browser and see if you can
download files using it.

Sometimes, this will remedy the problem.

Internet Explorer, Firefix, Safari, Chrome and other free
web browsers work well.

Update your computer.

Sometimes, a computer update can remedy your downloading
problem.

If you use Microsoft Windows, install the latest service
pack.

Reboot your computer after the installation to see if you
can now download files.

If you still cannot download anything, you need to see a
computer specialist.

Virus If Explorer Won\'t
Download Anything

The Internet is laced with malicious software just waiting
to take a crack at your personal information.

While rare, certain bits of malware have been known to
hijack a user\'s browser to prevent the download of repair or removal tools.

When this occurs, destroying the infection can be more
frustrating than usual, but is certainly not impossible.

Restart your computer.

You can do this by clicking the "Start" menu,
select "Shut Down" and click "Restart."

Press the "F8" button repeatedly as your computer reboots to activate
the Windows Advanced Options menu.

Select "Safe Mode with Networking."

Press "Enter" to load Windows.

Safe Mode is designed to allow you to troubleshoot issues
with your Windows operating system by limiting the types of processes that can
run -- this should block the virus or trojan from controlling your browser.

Remove the Virus

Download the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool
(MSRT).

MSRT is a free tool developed by Microsoft to assist you in
removing harmful files from your computer.

Open MSRT by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.

Click "Next" to progress to the "Scan
Type" pane.

Choose "Full Scan."

While this scan may take longer, it will ensure that every
corner of your computer is checked for malicious software.

Remove any harmful files that MSRT discovers by allowing the
software to delete them or by manually destroying the files and folders.

Empty your Recycle Bin and restart your computer to boot
Windows in standard mode.

Your browser will now function correctly.

Yahoo messenger is unable to download files needed for installation. Please check firewall settings and retry installation

It should not be necessary to adjust firewall settings.
If you have 'Speedbit' installed, lose it, (known conflicts with Yahoo)
Sounds like you may have tried to download without clearing out your browser or failed to check the Messenger file was empty before uploading your new messenger.

When downloading/uploading close all other programs.

I suggest you download and run ccleaner first before you proceed further. Run it through a couple of times - include "registry" from the left hand toolbar. Do not be alarmed at the amount of files you have to delete, especially if you do not clear it on a regular basis.

Use this path to uninstall and remove the old messenger software.
> Start > computer > local disc (C) > program files > yahoo > messenger > UNWISE.
UNWISE is the command that starts uninstall. Make sure the old messenger folder is clear before starting to download - I run Messenger 9 with no problems although I read here its "full of bugs," that's because its not been installed cleanly. Yahoo tell us its the best one to operate behind a firewall.
Check in the Messenger file after uninstalling to make sure no fragments of software remain that will create conflicts with the incoming software.

Program Zoom browser won't download pictures from the camera.

Uninstall and reinstall the Zoombrowser. It looks like a driver or something with the program is corrupt. But, first read on before doing anything.

But, before doing the above, check the software and camera configuration. Also check to see that there are no other active programs running in the computer that may be taking presidence over the Canon software and accessing control of the camera's port, thus blocking Canon's software from being able to read the camera.

You can try calling Canon's tech support and ask the question. They will know their product the best.

Microdrive:
A microdrive can fail much easier than a solid state memory card. I have had them fail. Mircodrives are fairly fragile compared to memory cards. Microdrives are mechanical devices. The new generation of memory cards are excellent.

I have an old digital camera with an IBM 1 GB microdrive. The present drive still works! It was terribly expensive when I bought it about 4 years ago. I am now using a 2 GB solid state memory card. I found it to be superior to the old microdrive.
