Try some other DVD player programs to play the DVD that you burn and also try playing some other DVD discs on the DVD player to see if it's the issue of your DVD player. If your burnt DVD works fine in a computer but doesn't play on the DVD player, the problem either rests with the DVD (the DVD player might not be able to read that disc type or data format) or the DVD player itself.

A dvd+r disk I burnt using Nero7 will not play on my dvd player (the extention file of burnt file is .flv

Try converting the file first. Many converters are avaiable online. Assure that it can take FLV (Flash based files) and export as MPEG (or DVD standard) to maximize compatibility.

Found this in a search quickly:
AVS Video Converter is an all-in-one multimedia program for capturing, converting, editing, converting, transferring, burning DVD and movie files. It can convert FLV files to DVD, burn FLV to DVD, as well as convert FLV to all popular video file formats, and even extract MP3/WAV audio from FLV. Supports Youtube, Flash, Google FLV video files.

Good luck

Home dvd player won't play a burned dvd

Not all burned DVDs are compatible with all home DVD players.

Some things to do to help compatibility:

1. Use only DVD+Rs.
2. Burn at a slower speed (4x or below).
3. Make sure the software you are using to burn the DVD creates a menu. Most DVD players won't be able to play a DVD unless there is a menu; usually you can tell the software to skip the menu if you want but it still must be encoded onto the DVD.

Thanks and please take a moment to rate this solution with a fixya rating. :c)

Burned DVDs play on PC but won't play on home player. I have 3 PC (2HPs and 1 Parts built),running XP home, pro, media. I bought 2 Samsung SH-S182 DVD±RW Dual Layer Burner, and have tried them on all 3...

Nero 6 and 7 does not provides us the facilitiy of burning the DVD in appropriate DVD Format. Instead it burns the DVD in the normal DATA Format, which is not supportable by our DVD Player. To play the DVD in our DVD Player we should burn the DVD in the appropriate DVD Burner which itself converts the extension of the movie and make it proper for a DVD Player to read it. It also adds some files to the DVD which is sometimes used by the dvd player in running the DVD.

Nero 7 burning used for pictures/video

There are many was to burn photo or dvd using nero.
The only thing you need to know is what format your dvd player accepts. If it accepts jpeg or kodack then you can burn staright to the cd.
If your dvd player hase Divx the tiy can burn any media to cd using Divx player. If not then you need to convert the file to dvd format.
Using Nero to make a dvd.

1. click on Nero and select DVD on the top middle and then click on the tab Photo & DVD
2. Then click on MAKE YOUR OWN DVD
this will open a new window here you need to select from the right hand side ADD VIDEO FILES.
3. Once loaded click next and let Nero recode the video format to dvd.
4. Insert a new dvd and burn it

This is the only way to recode a normal video file to dvd format.

Hope it works for you as its worked for me many times in the past.

Good Luck!!

How to burn a dvd

If this does not work for you you can try the Nero dvd-video-plugin
This enables you to drop video files into Nero and burn dvd discs compatible with standalone dvd players.

If you have the full version of Nero you should already have this option.
