Your motherboard supports only ddr-1 ram modules. This means you can use: pc2100 (266), pc2700(333), pc3200 (400) Mhz modules. Do not mix thease types, it will couse system instability

2 Disable the onboard video chip in the bios try it again

4 if ou have 2 slots of ram chips try without one in then take it out and try the other
If its a P4mmv2 motherboard with AMIBIOS 686 and a VIA VT8233 chipset then the jumper setting are printed on the motherboard, but they have labeled the power switch wrong, I believe th reset switch is the power switch. This is the type of mother board that I have and I have learned this from experience. Also I read in somewhere on the internet about the problems with these types of motherboards.
