I will assume it a display resolution issue. Try to set your laptop display at resolution 1280x720 or 1920x1080, as this will be the max res. for that tv.

give it a try and let me know about the outcome.

You will have to enable the HDMI output on your Compaq notebook as the port is usually turned off to conserve resources and power if you are using the battery.  Simply, it needs to be turned on within the notebook.

Im trying to connect my presario cq60 to my lg 32hl3000 tv through the hdmi ports but no picture shows on my tv. It says there is no signal?

Your television may have multiple HDMI ports. When going through main menu on the television, look to see more than 1 HDMI entry (typically numbered HDMI, HDMI2 etc). Try all HDMI available on the television until you see a picture of your notebook's desktop on the television.

Can i hookup theis computer to my tv using a hdmi cable?

Yes, your notebook comes with an HDMI port. You will need an HDMI cable to connect to the TV (usually LCD TVs come with an HDMI port). After the connection has been made, change the source in the TV by clicking the "Source" button on the remote. It usually changes in the following sequence - AV1, AV2, HDMI.

After confirming those connection on your T.V. and Laptop, you can just the HDMI cable to connect you Laptop to T.V. Also you need to choose HDMI on your T.V. settings and for your Laptop you can just switch the display by pressing FN+F4 or F5.

Hope It helps.
