Remove HeatSink. Clean dust and lint from heat transfer grill. Clean dust from Fan. Clean old Heatsink grease from CPU and video chip and replace with new high quality Heatsink grease. Replace Heatsink taking care to tighten screws in order noted on Heatsink spring. Close all covers and start laptop.

Think pad edge e531 thermal sensing error

Sorry but the only solution is to replace the motherboard. Check lenovo site http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/product-service/warranty-status/default.page?

as your warranty may still be in effect and the cost free. Otherwise, they are around $200 and you will also need a boot thumb drive to set up the new mobo with serial and model number.

Lenovo ThinkPad X61 got "thermal sensing error" when it boot up

OverheatingWhen the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.

That same thing happened to me this morning and when i did my research I notice it only happens to Lenovo brand Laptops. You need to get a new CPU. I was horrifed to know that because it's not my laptop.
