I have a phillips flat screen 47" when i turn it there is a pop but no picture no sound also the remote will not turn the tv off

My 32' LG LED TV has suddenly lost picture! The sound is all right but the Screen is pitch black. After switching it on the picture flashes for a second and then the screen goes completely black.

Hi!
My name is Chris.
I have this Phillips Wide Screen TV that didn't have or come with a remote, so I had to go out and buy a universal remote for it today from a BIG W Store. I'm having some technical difficulties & problems with switching and turning it on, but as I use the universal remote to turn on the TV, I'm having a bit of a slight problem with it turning it on, Ok, Yes, it works and Powers on, but there is nothing showing or giving me the indication that there is no picture or sound showing up on this Wide Screen Phillips TV, But there is a little red & green light at the bottome right hand corner that keeps on flashing red when ever I use the universal remote to switch the power on. Is there a possibility, that i can get some help on here, to help me out with any suggestions, is to why I'm not getting any picture or sound showing up on this TV with this universal remote ? Is there anyway that i can maybe get some help with this to help me out with solving my issue with the Phillips Wide Screen TV ?

Check and replace the back-light inverter baord.

That could be a Tcon or a main board issue. Can you post a picture of the screen? also will need the model number. Please respond to this same post for further assistance.

Power supply related and maybe the part for the audio circuit.

If the TV menu displays your problem is most likely not the Tv , but is caused by the signal source:
Cable box or connections. Reboot everything test using other sources like a DVD player to isolate the problem.

You probably have chosen the wrong input selection on your TV.

Common short the cover cap over the video & sound boards short out if you remove it the cap only (shield metal) it usually will fix this

Could be the power supply gone bad.
No easy solution I'm afraid.
