My Swiss army watch started going in reverse after changing what I thought was a dead battery. Th previous battery was an energizer 370/371.
Replaced with aVarda 371.
Any Ideas?
There is no difference in watch batteries as they are produced by the certain standards. That means you have replaced the right battery.
The simplest solution would be re-replacing the battery. Just take the battery out and leave the watch without battery for 5 minutes, then put the battery back. Make sure the battery is fitted the right way (the + side usually facing up).
If this doesn;t help - let me know.

Sorry if it did not help.
Are you sure you put everything back exactly the same way as it was?
I came accross the same situation in my early watchmaking years, but that was my fault as I replaced the coil ends the other way round, so, it was quickly sorted after some time of wondering.
I don't think that you've been misplacing any parts as for replacing the battery you just need to undo the contact.
Try this- get the battery out again and put it back other way round. If this doesn't work , get the battery out and let me know.

Tried removing the battery. Waited 15 minutes and reinserted the battery. Watch is till going backwards.
Battery can only be put in one way. If it installed upside down contact cannot be made to both sides of battery.
