Band New Maytag Dryer just installed. Touched it the next morning got a strong electric shock. Dryer was not on. Mod medc200xw3
First thing unplug machine and have electrical outlet checked for proper wiring. This is a safety hazard. you can buy a tool for about $5 to check them.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Receptacle_tester
if it passes this test then there is a wiring issue in the machine. Were you touching anything else metal when shocked?
if it fails, get a professional electrician to check and repair the wiring. Do NOT use any faulty outlet as they can be dangerous.
Stay Safe.

Check spring tab behind door switch-if it's bent/out of adjustment, circuit will act like door is always open.
To confirm this, open door, set dryer to active setting, and hold in door switch; if it comes on, then it's either the spring tab, or the switch is malfunctioning

U might want to look on the back of the dryer to see if there is a panel to take off. If not the hole top will have to come off. Is the top made on the rest of the dryer or is there a split between it.

could be the board, could be a motor, could be a belt but i would run it intill something just stops or try your best to take it apart and look through things and see if you can see an indication.

Check the door interlock switch. If it is defective, the machine will not start. If no help, then there may be trouble in the control panel.
