Air compressor

Usually, motor will draw lower amperage when tank is empty then draw most when about full. High amp draw is caused by long cord, weak capacitor, leaking check valve or blown head gasket/s. If gaskets are bad, the head of the compressor will be very hot and take much longer to fill. If the motor (is too small) is not correctly matched to the pump, the motor will draw max amps. To correct motor to small, use a smaller pulley at the motor. Using a smaller pulley will turn the pump less rpm giving the motor a break lowering amp draw. Good luck

1994 dodge caravan se 15 amp ignitation off fusedraw still draws 00.04 amps

Milli-amps is the measure for draw of the computer memory, clock, and radio pre-sets. So, .04 amps is just a little more. Would that be like what a glove box light might draw? Try either pulling a few fuses and see if you still have a draw, or take the battery negative post off overnight, and see if battery is still good and hot the next day.
Good luck.

WHAT IS THE MAX AMP DRAW?

Max amp draw refers to the total amp draw of a unit , example : Compressor RLA 25 Amp, blower motor FLA 5 Amp, and condenser fan motor FLA is 1.5 amp , you add all three and get 31.5 Amps
which is your max amps, this is used in determining wire gauge and breaker size for unit.
This should help.

Air compressor starts fine, but trips the thermal reset ,motor seems hot. It does it in every receptacal I've tried.

With no air in the tank and amp meter connected to one leg of line, start compressor and note amp draw thru cycle. It should draw low amps at first then reach rated amp draw close to end of cycle(most likely 12-15 amps). If amp draw is normal then replace thermal breaker. Older compressors have thermal breaker incorporated within winding and may not be easily replaced (but not impossible). If amp draw is higher than rated, check capacitor for proper rating and make sure that the in-tank check valve is not leaking pressure back to pump. Good holidays

Start up current draw

Lock motor Amps ( LMA ) is the current draw when the compressor starts. This draw of current is less then 1sec.The amp amount shoud be on the compressor Name Plate. This amp draw is also the amps used when the compressor goes bad and locks up then the overload kicks out.

Model fgf334bgwj gas range oven will not operate. I removed the oven bottom plate and deflection plate , the glow bar turns on but no gas flows to ignitor? Is it the gas safety valve?

When the ignitor glows brightly and the oven doesn't light it is usually a defective ignitor. The way to know if the ignitor is good or bad is to read the amp draw of the ignitor with an amp or watt meter. The gas valve and the ignitor are wired in series and for the gas valve to draw the current the ignitor has to draw 3.5-3.8 amps.If the ignitor is drawing 3.5-3.8 amps the new gas valve is defective. If it is drawing less amps the ignitor is defective.

Power draw on start up

When the compressor first starts up it can draw as high as 15 amps but for no more then a second or two. After that it should run at 1-1.5 amp and will draw less as it continues to run. After 10 minutes it should pull anywhere from .5-1 amps.
