Since January of 2013, my Upright Frigidaire Freezer has been having cooling problems and I have had to get multiple warranty service repair visits. Each time the service rep was coming out, I was being told that a new problem was happening. All my items in my freezer have now gone bad twice now in the past 6 months (all within warranty) and I still to date have no idea when and if my freezer will be repaired OR replaced. After multiple attempts at getting an initial service call with an authorized Frigidaire repair technician, on February 4, 2013 I was told while the tech was at my home that the Board and Thermistor were bad and would be rush ordered. One entire month passed before they returned and that was only after multiple phone calls to the local warranty repair company. At that visit, I was told that the Board and Thermistor were no longer/not/never were bad and that the coolant system was bad at which point they would need to order an exterior mounted cooling system that would have to be welded on to the backside of my freezer. That was on March 5, 2013. Each time I call to inquire about the status of my repair, I am told that while a rush order has been placed for my parts, Frigidaire / Electrolux parts delivery and fulfillment are always on a constant state of backorder and they have no control or clue when my specific parts may arrive. I did not purchase a freezer with the intention of having extra parts welded to my freezer in order to get it to work but was told that I have to go through multiple repair visits on this freezer before a swap out can even be considered. It is now June 2013 and my Upright Frigidaire Freezer has stopped cooling again approximately 2 months after multiple previous repair visits. Is there anything that I can do to prevent my freezer from losing cooling ability over and over again?
Get another freezer. They are shooting you a lie and taking your money, Sea Breeze

Check the door seal all the way around. We purchased one recently that was slightly dented (not noticeably and the seal was not tight.) You need to get in touch with whomever you purchased it from immediately so that it can be repaired or replaced.

I was hoping it would be something like a cracked door seal, or a faulty thermostat, etc., but after reading the rest of your info, I've concluded the likely cause is a slow leak in the refridgerant line(s). I've seen many of these fairly new upright freezers with this problem.
Finding the leak is easy for a service tech to find, but the cost of the service tech isn't cheap and unfortunately, the repair cost will probably exceed the cost of a new freezer, but you can try to call a repair tech and see if they can give you a rough estimate over the phone or if they think it's worth fixing, etc.
My advice is to replace it. The cost of food you've lost has probably exceeded the price of a new freezer - and you've had this happen twice now. These days it seems that some appliances are being designed and built as "throw aways" due to the high repair cost.
Wished I had some better news for you, but unless you've got all the specialty tools; (charging gauges, vaccum pump, Freon, etc.) needed to do the repair yourself, along with the technical knowledge, it's likely not worth having the repair service contracted. Best Regards.

Good day,
That's a no-no. Your compressor carries a 5 year warranty from the factory. However, if anything is altered on it the warranty is voided. You've got an issue with this guy.
