You can get a manual for any bike or scooter at http://www.tradebit.com/mytradebit/
First thing with your bike is how old is the gas in it? Ethanol fuel is prone to clogging up carburetors. Go to an autoparts store and get a can of carb cleaner.Suggest you remove carb by unscrewing the the top and pulling out the slide and then on the bottom of the carb remove float bowl, clean it out. You'll notice 2 brass fittings on the bottom of the carb. One is the main jet and one is the pilot jet. Remove them one at a time and shoot carb cleaner into them and make sure you can see daylight thru then reinstall on the carb. Re-assemble the carb and see if this helps.
SOURCE: Yamaha xl 800 won't hit top speed and won't rev out to max rpm
Did the Impeller Pitch Change? Pitch will change the Max RPM, Are you Pulling harder out of the Hole than you did prior? You may have traded Torque for Top End
