This was adjusted by the fine tune on the selector It is the picture not being held in place by being out of tune Same as if the picture goes sideways On the real old units there were 2 knobs to make these adjustments.

Soory man there is no deflection yoke or vertical output IC in a plasma TV set.LOL This person has a problem with whats called the substain power supply or bad caoacitors in the main supply. there is also a possibility that the set has a bad tuner. Only performing test on the set will determine the problem.

SOURCE: Zenith LCD Flat Screen TV just shows vertical lines of color

Press menu button on the TV if the on screen display is also distorted or no pic the TV is definetely defective. You can try unpluuging from wall for about 15 minutes and see if reset helps if not problem is either main p.c.b , LCD panel , LVDS cable or Power supply board. and would require service. most likely problem would be bad connection at or defective LVDS cable that connects main p.c.b to Panel (cheapest fix) or defective main p.c.b. If it is the panel it would probably not be worth repairing and you may want to sell as is on ebay.

SOURCE: My picture has a green and blue hue to it.

After spending a day trying to fix the TV, I found out the problem was actually with my cable box. I have an HD DVR recorder. We unplugged the cable box and plugged the TV directly into the cable in the wall and it worked. So we took the cable box back to our cable company and got a new cable box. (Can't live without the DVR!!)

SOURCE: Vertical lines in picture

The machine is still under warranty from samsung so I would call 1-800-samsung to find the nearest service center. Problem could be caused by a bad main board, bad lvds cable or a defective t/con board or lcd panel.

Service mode entry, adjust and exit procedure to many popular brand TVs are given. Never forget to exit the service mode, after all adjustments have been done.
NB: Please read and understand well, the instructions to enter the service mode, before you begin. Be very careful. Note how to "EXIT" the service mode; after entering and adjusting data. This is very important.
Search the site by type in the "brand name" to your device; (Exclude the model number), in the "Search box at the top right of the display window of the Homepage" to get gathered related posts.

Continuous vertical roll on tv

Wow 5 months without a solution. NOT GOOD.. Well I hope I can help...
This sounds like a vertical hold problem, and is normally easy to fix.... There should be a couple of nob's on the lower back of the TV. One for vertical and one for Horizontal hold. You need to find the vertical hold nob and adjust it, until the rolling stops and stabilizes. If however these nob's are not visible you will have to take TV to an engineer to fix it.
Hope this helps..

27 inch Zenith TV Vertical too big

If you are using a DTV coverter box, you may have changed the aspect ratio with your remote control. look for a button marked "aspect" or "picture size" use that to change size.
If you have a cable box, you may have a similar button.
Or you may find a picture size adjustment on your TV remote.
If you do not have "aspect" button on your remote try going to set up menu and look for picture size.
Older TVs used to have a vertical size adjustment at the back. look in the manual.
If none of the above, you have a biiger problem with the TV internal parts needing attention

What would cause a straight line threw tho middle of my tv monitor. I have a zenith model number z27h96r8.

If this is a straight white line you may have a vertical collapse. You need to either solder bad connections at Vertical IC or change the vertical IC

Horizontal lines across the top 2 - 3" of the screen

Sounds like you have some capacitors that are needing to be changed in the vertical circuit. The cost I cannot quote but, it probably won;t be worth the cost as replacement TV's are much cheaper now. Zeniths and other brands for the longest time have used not controls inside the TV, they are technician adjustments through a service menu only.
