It has been a while, and I don't know if you still need help, but... On the 7000, the gas distribution rail is a square pipe. Get some gasket material and a couple of aluminum or steel bars, maybe two inches long by a half by an eighth, and something to clamp them onto the pipe. Cover all five holes with the bars and gasket and clamp in place.

If you have the old valve, it can be rebuilt; contact Repco in Texas (www.erepco.com) for pricing and details. Repco may also have some of that valve available for sale; they buy valve cores and bodies, and may have a rebuilt one already available. You're looking for the Heartland part number 7194.

Oh -- and as always, when working with gas, use soapy water to check for leaks. Don't check for leaks with a match; a leak too small to feel or hear will release enough gas to make an explosion. Remember that the gas jet on a stove burner is basically a pinhole.

SOURCE: my oven and stove top in inoperative. the clock,

If everything checks out fine, and you have no wires grounding out, then the issue is the control or circuit board( same thing).

SOURCE: Hi, I need to find

Hello. Generally, the best local source for LP gas valves is your LP gas provider, give them a call. Also, there are several other sources including http://www.kitchenstuff.com/items.asp?Cc=HS1077, and local plumbing supply houses. J.

My oven will not turn on while the rest of the stove is working fine. Does it have anything to do with the dials and clock

When you turn the oven on is there an orange glow in the burner area? If not the igniter has become inoperative. If you do see the glow then the gas valve for the burner is defective.

Wiring diagram for oven motor 419720

Many modern gas stoves, ovens, furnaces, and other similar appliances use an electronic ignition rather than a continuously burning pilot flame to ignite the fuel. These are actually simple high voltage pulse generators.
  • Where starting is manual (there is a 'start' position on the control(s), a set of switch contacts on the control(s) provides power to the ignition module.
    • A problem of no spark with only one control indicates that the fault is with it or its wiring.
    • A problem with continuous sparking even with all the controls off or in their normal positions indicates a short - either due to a defective switch in one of the controls or contamination bypassing the switch contacts.

  • Where starting is automatic, an electronic sensor, thermocouple, or bimetal switch provides power to the ignition module as needed.
The Harper-Wyman Model 6520 Kool Lite(tm) module is typical of those found in Jenne-Aire and similar cook-tops. Input is 115 VAC, 4 mA, 50/60 Hz AC. C1 and D1 form a half wave doubler resulting in 60 Hz pulses with a peak of about 300 V and at point A and charges C2 to about 300 V through D2. R2, C3, and DL1 form a relaxation oscillator triggering SCR1 to dump the charge built up on C2 into T1 with a repetition rate of about 2 Hz. My Kitchenaid Stove top starter will not turn off

One of the switches mounted on the individual gas controls has malfunctioned. To find the broken one what I do is remove a wire from each switch one at the time till I isolate the malfunctioning one. When the ticking stops the switch can be replaced. This involves removing the knobs and cover to get to the switches. To temporarily stop it from happening is easy enough. yank out the bottom drawer and tucked under a shield is a small igniter box. Remove one of the power wires temporarily and tape it off. You can then light the burners with a match like granny used to do it back in the day. These switches mount on the individual gas valves and are all wired together so if one of them is bad the only way to tell is to do as I prescribed. Some models do not offer the individual switches but sell the entire harness. I would rather spend $5 than $100 and I bet you would too. Look on line for sources of Harper Wyman switces. These are the manufacturers of all these small switches you see on stoves. 7f06c36.jpgThis is what a typical HarperWyman spark igniter looks like. Simply remove one of the input wires and the annoying sound till you can diagnose those pesky switches.
