I plugged in my Belkin ADSL Modem with Wireless G Router, 54 mbps, 802.11g, and followed the steps to the letter, removing my old dial-up modem and connecting Belkin. The last step requires me to connect to the internet and register the product, but whenever I open internet explorer, the dial-up connection window pops up, but won't connect, seeing as the old modem is no longer connected. The Belkin Router has also been added as a LAN connection, but I have no idea if this means something, or even how to connect using the LAN connection
Try this, assuming you're using Internet Explorer: Go to Tools > Internet Options and select the Connections tab. Does it show your old dial-up connection in the list? If so highlight it and click on REMOVE. Close IE and re-open it. It should now use the Belkin LAN connection.
You need to remove the Dial-up connection, assuming you aren't going to use it anymore. To do this, open control panel and then go to internet options. Click the connections tab. Select your dial-up connection and click remove. Then click Setup at the top to setup your new internet connection. This will open the New Connection Wizard. Select "Connect to the internet", click next, "Set up my connection manually", next, "Connect using a broadband cnection that is always on", next, finish. Your internet should work now. If it dosen't, call your ISP.

My Dell Latitude 400 hasn't connected the email to the ISP with the Belkin router since it crashed and I have finally got it completely re loaded, now my HP presario laptop stopped yesterday as if it was infected by the same bug as the dell. I know the dell works perfectly on other routers.
Will not connect states that the internet connection is to slow
