Apple tv I've spent the better part of a day trying everything twenty times to get appletv to display on screen. Am using the component 2 input, Y/Cr-Pr?/Pb cables/jacks. Audio via analog to receiver. I've tried Apple's advised solution - trying to adjust resolution, using the apple remote to request from the appletv unit. I hear these cute little bleeps (almost tivo-like) every minute or so - for about half an hour - but never see anything other than the bright blue screen. Have unpluged, upgraded, restarted. Three times. Everthing's snuggly plugged in - and using cables that work on the dvd player - and the same component input that worked for the dvd player. Have the right input for viewing - any ideas - known problems? Known solutions? thanks Cindy

TVtechmaniac is spot on. I own this unit and it has one DTV input which is 480p/1080i. Plug your component apple tv into this and you should be good to go. Im assuming the atv auto configs? If not, set to 1080i and you should be good to go.

The component 1 and component 2 inputs only go to 480i and 480p. The Apple TV must be plugged into the DTV input which will accept a 1080i signal.

How can i put a web browser on this and add other apps

If you have an HDMI input available, try a Roku. There are others such as: Chromecast, RaspberryPi, AppleTV and more. If you have a PC or VGA input - you could connect a computer and use it with a wireless keyboard & mouse.

Trying to activate bps.org and apple TV

Hi James

Not enough details
Plug the AppleTV HDMI cable in and connect it to your TV Screen.
Use the TV Screen remote control to select the screen "input" from the HDMI port you plugged in to.
Turn AppleTV on (plug in)
http://www.apple.com/appletv
The details should show on your tv screen if the correct hdmi input is chosen.
Use the tiny aluminum IR (IfraRed) control to enter details & control your AppleTV.
If you have an iPhone / iPad you can get the "Remote" App for free that is easier to use to set up the ATV.
AppleTV will want to connect to your home WiFi (Modem) Box that you get your internet from. You will need to know the WiFi Password to allow connection to home WiFi. This keeps the neighbours from connecting to your wireless internet.
You then Select the Language and enter your AppleID (e.g. email address & password) same as you use for your App Store for iPhone / iPad etc
Once connected to the internet the ATV will show all the streaming services that are available. Also if you have iTunes on your Mac Computer you can set up sharing and display selected photos as a slide presentation when the ATV is in standby.
There are many sites for troubleshooting ATV.. here is one

How do I get HDMI cables to sync or talk to each other. We had this problem when we hooked up an Apple TV box to a Denon AVR-E400 and our Sony HD TV. We were told to disconnect all HDMI cables unplug

Personally I would use an RCA cable and hook up the AVR.
((RCA out of TV to AVR audio in))
((cable box HDMI cable output to TV HDMI Input1))
(As far as the AppleTv I would use a separate HDMI Input2)
If your AVR has a dvd or blue ray player Hook up a
HDMI cable out to another Input HDMI3 of the TV
using separate inputs on the tv will allow your surround system to be
used on all modes(CABLE,DVD/BLUERAY,APPLETV)

Sorry for the duplicate post, but somehow someone's not helpful solution got marked as solved, so I'm going to post again. I have a Sony Wega KP-51WS520. The problem is with the HDMI port. I have...

HDCP is causing the trouble You experience. Try using other video input connection for same set. If it works fine that way, the problem is that the rights protection (HDCP) is acting as "police" to prevent copying or reproduce unauthorized content. If only the HDMI is connected (disconnect all other inputs/outputs) on some sets, could be work fine.

RE: Denon AVR 3300 - I cannot get the system setup menu to display on Phillips P50PFP5332D tv screen? All connected components work and sound great, but I cannot see Denon's Setup menu on tv to a

I understand, it's something I've misunderstood on my denon avr-790 as well when connected to a samsung 8000 series led tv.
The answer isn't in the receiver's settings (you can be on whatever source you want on the receiver end when toggling the menu). You need to toggle through the tv's sources to find the menu (usually found on hdmi 1). I've spent towards an hour recently troubleshooting only to find that it was the tv's source that wasn't set properly and I was trying to change the receiver's settings instead of the tv's source.
Hope that helps!

Hello Josh! Good morning! Let's try solving your problem into you Macbook and Apple TV. First of all, you need to have a checklist. Check if the software that are engaged in fixing this are updated. Is your iTunes updated? If not, you should install the latest version of it. How about your Apple TV? Is it in the latest version? If not, you should update that too with the latest one to help it work with your Macbook. For more info to solve your problem, check this site: techyv.com/questions/appletv-not-syncing-my-computer

There are generally three HDMI slots at the back panel of an HD TV. Make sure you have connected the PS3 and the Apple TV in two separate slots. Sound will work because you must have hooked it up in Audio IN at the back or if you have connected the red and white audio cables in the front panel , the audio will work only on the camera setting on your TV

How to eliminate error screen:"your tv does not allow display of this program through the dvi input source. please chose another tv input source."

"cable box to tv is hdmi cable"

Everything I've read on the web says cable box to tv connection must also use component (rgb) cables. The error is coming from the cable box (STB). All the Scientific Atlanta (SA) cable boxes seem have this Digital Rights Management (DRM) bug and the only way to be totally rid of the error is to replace the digital connection from box to the TV with an analog connection.
