Don't know why this is posted under a Rolex issue or why you would be taking the movement out of this watch. I would suggest taking the back off if you haven't already.

The movement is connected to the crown, so basically if you're going to take out the movement, you're going to end up breaking the watch.

If you're trying to replace the battery, this can be done without removing the movement. I would suggest bringing it to a jeweler. They can replace the battery for ~$10.

Wrangler Hero Watch analog hands dont work after battery replacement
Remove the PCB and replace the AG4 battery in the analog quartz movement. The stem can be removed by pressing the small lever through the hole visable after the CR2016 battery has been removed. I think it uses a Y121 movement.

Metal pendulum wall clock run by AA batteries... does not run... new batteries do not solve the problem.
Hi! the movement must be bad, you can actually have a battery clock movement replaced easily at a watch or clock shop! We charge about $30.00 to 50.00 if the movement is available, you did not mention what type of clock? if you can let me know i may be able to help further. thank you!

I have a AR-5801 that likely needs a new battery. I opened up the back but could not see anything familiar?? Not even the old battery. Can you help? TJ
To source the proper battery for this timepiece, you must know the caliber number of the movement and brand of the movement in the very least. Every company uses different movements in many different styles of their watches.

If you cannot find the battery that was previously in it, it is always best to visit your local Certified Master Horologist who can look up the movement caliber, provide the proper battery, and install it for you. Sometimes there is an issue with the movement, in which case they can likely service or replace it for you as well.

Insist on only Energizer button cell silver oxide batteries, as in our vast experience they are one of the only batteries that do not leak in the movement.

Changed power cell and watch still not running
Movements become "dry" over time and must be serviced.

Another common problem we see is that there is oil or battery acid (from a previously leaking battery) inhibiting proper connection between the contacts and the battery.

The quartz and the circuit itself may also go bad on a movement at any time.

If it is under warranty, you may send it back directly to Lucien Piccard.

I recommend you visit your local Certified Master Horologist for what is usually a free diagnostic. They can test the battery, the connection, the movement, and usually repair, service, or replace the movement for you. They will also generally give a free estimate.

Watch stopped working 11 months after purchase. New battery fitted - watch stopped couple days later. Another new battery fitted (both by jewellers). Again, the watch stopped within 2 days. Can't find a...
It is best to go to a watchmaker for this issue. If the battery was improperly installed, it can damage the movement or contacts, which will mean the movement must be replaced. We see this issue often. Another common problem is that the oils from the installer's fingers may be causing a bad connection if the battery and the contacts are not properly cleaned. We would use the Pulse test to see if the watch has current, if so, the movement is bad mechanically, it must be replaced. If it has no current, we would check and clean all connections and replace the battery. If there is still no current (using Pulse diagnostic) then the movement is bad and it must be replaced.

Watch not working!... no use if i put a new battery..... the guy says i had to change the battery immediately and now my watch got spoilt by the old battery.....it seems it leaked and spoilt...... now how...
mcdevito75 here, Sadly, once a battery, any battery leaks, it leaks out acid that eats away metal. Once your watch Battery leaked acid, it ate away electrical contacts, wires as thin as hairs, and tiny linkages with--in the quartz movement of your watch, ----- there is no reversal of this acid corrosion. You have 2 choices, 1 and if this is possible, have your watch repair person replace the quartz movement with a new one, if replacement movement is available, and 2 replace the entire watch. Sorry.

MY WATCH JUST STOPPED RUNNING. i THOUGHT IT WAS THE BATTERY BUT i HAD THE JEWELRY REPLACE IT AND STILL NOT WORKING. oF COURSE WARRANTY OUT!
Of course the problem may be with the movement, but, if I was working on your watch I would carefully inspect that the battery was put in right and second I would check the conditiion of the battery. It is always possible that the battery may too old. They d have a shelf life. Also, if I were working on your watch I would be able to test the movement to see of the gears in the movement were stuck because of gummy oils, etc. I have the equipment to unstick a movement. The bottom line maybe that you will need the movemet replaced as this is generally much cheaper than the labor to get yours working again. Good Luck

Armitron Instalite- light works fine but movement battery seems to be 'dead'. How do I remove the stem, so the movement module can be accessed to replace the battery?
Move the little battery to the side and lift up on the edge. It will pop out. Don't take the movement out.

Dont work
This is pretty general but here is what you can do...

Check the battery. If the battery is bad then replace it.
If the battery is good have a watch technician check to see that the current is good. If the current is bad then check contacts for corrosion. If still bad have the movement replaced. If there is a signal then a cyclonic can be used to force the movement and free up the gear train. If this still doesnt make the watch work then replace the movement.

This is a very general answer for a general problem.
