I was able to take use a push pin (thumb tack) to get out the (split) pin. I put the thumb tack in the hole of the pin I wanted to remove, place the thumb tack upside down on our counter top and gently but firmly push the pin out. It only has to push out an 1/8 of an inch and then you can pull it the rest of the way. Thanks to the diagram that "guest" posted above - I copied and pasted: http://www.pmwf.com/Watches/WatchSchool/WS%2014%20How%20to%20Resize%20Common%20Bracelets/WS%2014%20How%20to%20Resize%20Bracelets.htm#Split%20pin%20bracelets in the browser and it showed me how the pins work in the wrist band. Didn't need all of the fancy tools. (:
I agree with gordyadams. Information shared by him is authentic and useful. You can also visit usb cufflinks. Here you will get a detail information about it.

SOURCE: wrist band adjustment on a fossil watch
Just take a tiny little jewelery screw driver small enough to fit in the pin hole and tap it with anything that you can find. Then pull out other end. Look for arrows indicating which way to remove pin and go in that direction Some pins are like a hairpin and have a split at one end. Replace solid end first opposite of arrow direction. If there are arrows in both directions on the same link; like Fossil for instance, that means that it doesn't matter which direction the pins are removed or replaced. They are solid and they can go back either end first. It's easy. To get the pin in all the way I just used the little screw driver and tapped it in. Good luck.

I have the same problem. stainless stell bank, with arrows but do not know how to remove. was able to get the main pintn out but can't figure out how to get the others out, links removed and pin put back in.
Have a tourneau with a stainless steel band that says watch gear. I can not figure out how to remove the links to tighten the band.
The bottom links have arrows but that is not too helpful. I have taken out the pin that connects with the clasp, but now am stuck.
Cannot remove links from Armitron watch
Getting the split pin out.
I tried the push pin solution and it worked like a charm. I did however first blunt the point of the push pin by scraping it across a rough surface.
