Basically.. Every time i turn my HTC Touch Diamond off, of course using the power button, and turn it back on again, SMS messages from the past few days are gone. Deleted. Even messages in the Sent Messages and Deleted Messages folders.
Now previously i thought it must be because i hadnt exited off the SMS program, and as it was still open in the background, the warning saying "Power will be turned off, and you may lose data if you have no saved them. Do you want to continue?" came true, deleting messages JUST because i hadnt exited the program and therefore hadnt saved the data.
But unfortunately i turned my phone off this morning (after closing SMS) and, as my brother had my charger and so i couldnt use it, i have now found that even exiting the SMS program does not change the outcome. I have now lost quite important messages as a few days ago it was my birthday and to be honest, no one wants to lose their birthday messages right?
Is there any way to prevent the messages from being deleted? Or at least, if not, a way to recover the messages?
Since I bought "Apolsoft Android SMS Transfer" and use it, no matter how many text messages I have, It can provide me a fast speed for backup. More importantly, It has its own desktop management tools, the ability to import text messages to the desktop management tools to edit, delete, print and other operations, Many free software can not do it and the software is very easy to use. So, I am very optimistic about this software, I hope my review could bring some benefits for you. This is not what the ad! !

1
Pull out the stylus from the back of the HTC Touch Diamond or the side of the HTC Touch Pro.
2
Using one hand, press and hold the volume down button on the
left side of the device, the power button on the top of the device and
the circular button on the face of the device. It is generally easiest
to hold the volume down button with your thumb, have your palm over the
LCD, press the power button with your index finger and the circular
button with your pinky.
3
Continue to hold the buttons down while you turn the device
over to access the back side. Use the stylus to press the "Reset"
button, located near the end of the stylus cavity on the Diamond, and by
the port on the bottom of the device on the Touch Pro. Release the
"Reset" button, but do not stop holding the volume down, power and
circular buttons.
4
Turn the HTC Diamond over and watch the LCD. When a message
appears saying that this operation will delete your data, release the
three buttons. Press the volume up button to complete the hard reset.
Clear Storage
5
Slide your finger to the right along the bottom of the LCD
until the "Settings" option appears. Tap "All Settings" on the device.
6
Tap the "System" tab on the screen and then tap "Clear Storage"
7
Select the drop-down box and choose "Clear Storage Only."
Type "1234" into the text box confirming that you do want to delete your
information and then press "Yes."
This is done by having your HTC Diamond turned off first.
Then, hold the VOLUME UP and DOWN buttons at the same time and briefly press the POWER BUTTON.
Now keep holding down the VOLUME UP and DOWN buttons until you see a screen
At soon as you see this screen, you should release the VOLUME UP and DOWN buttons.
Now press the VOLUME UP button to complete the hard reset.
Now this will completely format your HTC Touch Diamond as if it was turned on for the first time from the box. Everything once previously on the phone will be deleted including messages, contacts, music and the like.
Hope I have been of assistance to you,
Cheers :)
press and hold the center joystick button, and the volume down buttons.
dont leave those two!
and now power on the device. wait for a gray screen asking you to make a clean boot. press the volUP or volDOWN button and after about 5 minutes your device will make an hard reset (clean boot) and will restore it to factory settings.
you can try to recalibrate the touch screen to see if that works,
Start> settings> display> calibrate
* since screen is not working you will have to go the long away and use buttons on phone and nav wheel to get to these options
Make sure you Send/Recieve, which will 'sync' or delete those messages with the server at the same time. If you don't it will simply only delete from your phones inbox, until the next time you sync
I called and spoke to HTC ..apaprently there are issues with some of the handsets .. and its power related ... the best this is to do 2 things to solve any number of issues....
A: Get a replacment battery, and recharge it fully without turning the phone on. So plug it in and charge it until the white pulsating light is fully lit and not 'breathing' ..as they say. Once fully charged then turn on your phone...
B: Once on ... 'hardware' reset it - (you turn on the phone, holding the volume down button, and the hang up button and pressing the 'software reset button, at the same time)
Should solve it ... IF it dosent .. and your getting the same issues after battery replacment, software and hardware resets ...you've basically got a 'hardware' issue with the phone in which case you need a replacment or repair... (make sure your phone is insured)
Hope that helps folks...
p.s.
My phone eventually stopped charging ...nothing, no power so i sent it back for a replacment which im waiting for to arrive...
