I added my external hard drive to windows media player so that all the songs would show up in media player, but since doing this shuffle will not work and it just plays the songs in order, the external hard drive has abuot 500mb of songs on it. is this a problem for media player.
Is there anyone who has tried to play YouTube video on Windows Media Player, but finally failed? Have you found out why this happened or got any useful ways to deal with it? No matter how you have been troubled by such kind of unsupported YouTube video on Windows Media Player, you will work it out in this post which delivers the most reliable solutions to convert YouTube video to Windows Media Player and above all the easiest guide on how to convert YouTube video to Windows Media Player.
Guide: How to Play YouTube Video on Windows Media Player?
You can try other free video player programs to see if they can play Youtube videos. It would be better if you can recognize the format of the video and find a compatible player for it. you could try Leawo Blu-ray Player, which could support a lot of formats including AVI and it's a region-free and 4K player.
No 500mb of songs is not a problem for Windows Media player. I have in excess of 400GB of music on a network hard drive and it copes without difficulty. If you look at the bottom of Media player you will see a pair of icons to the left of the play button. The one furthest left is the "Shuffle" button.
SOURCE: sound device
The reason for the message will be the fact that windows doesnt recognise that there is a sound device available because the driver for your sound card or onboard sound is not built into XP and therefore you will have to find out what make of audio you have and install the relevant driver.

hi,
There might be a problem with your media player. Re-install the media player again.
SOURCE: Need a driver for USB2 external hard drive to work with Win98SE
1) the device should have come with install software, use that. if you dont have it try these ->
2) plug it in and go into the Device Manager,
Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager
it might be "unknown" but if it's in there click on it, click on "Install Driver". it will ask you to let it search the web for a driver. allow it to do so. it may or may not find one.
3) OR go to the manufacturers web site and look for the SUPPORT link. you should be able to make your way to the drivers section. they may have one for you.
If these dont work --
What is the make model etc of the device, all the numbers please.
and please gimmie your pc info. make model processor , os, etc
Let me know :)

how to fix my windows media player after download window media player 11, but i don't want to pay it. I want to get free from the internet
SOURCE: i formatted my hard drive now my media center doesent work
Your disks may have the OLD version of your video driver, seeing as XP has probably updated itself SEVERAL times, before you formatted the drive. I suggest Doing ALL Windows Updates for your OS. This will probably cure your issue, if not go to the Video card manufacturers web site and get the latest driver for your OS. I would NOT just skip the XP updates and go get the driver first that MAY NOT cure your problem as the NEW driver may depend on the LASTEST updates for your OS to be installed.
