Running slow After tilting over my mover to remove the blade to sharpen it, a little oil dripped out. Now it runs but sounds like it is going to stall out. It never does, it just runs poorly. What do I do to fix this?

As the piston moves down towards the sump, air is vented through a baffle arrangement called the breather.Sometimes a tube connects the breather to the carburettor so that droplets of oil are fumes are sucked back into the engine to be burnt. If you turn a mower on its side and the breather is on the lower side, oil can run out of the breather and possibly into the carburettor.
The carburettor is probably flooded and contaminated with oil. This should eventually dissipate as gas dilutes the oil, but try removing the filter and checkout whether a lot of oil has accumulated. Another scenario is that the air filter has become saturated with oil. If the filter is a foam type, the excess oil can be squeezed out. However if a paper filter is fitted, the likelihood is that it will have been destroyed and need to be replaced.

SOURCE: how do i sharpen cylinder mower blades

I believe you mean to say a 'reel' mower. Normally and old fashoined push (non-engine powered) mower.

Most consumer reel mowers do not need to be sharpened. They do however have a knife bed that occasionally needs to be adjusted. It should have the thickness of a regular piece of notebook paper between the blades and the knife bed. (that is really VERY close) You can buy 'lapping compound' from an automotive parts store, and apply that to the bed knife, and then rotate the blades to provide a precise fit for all blades.

Commercial reel mowers, such as those used on golf course equipment are however sharpened normally once or twice a year. It requireds dismantling, and many courses send their blades to a central location for golf equipment, where they are placed on a computer operated sharpener for precision grinding. This cost several hundreds of dollars just for the grinding.

Hus mz5425 runs fine, but when you engage the blades or move into thick grass the mower slows down. blades are slow to get started and then it sounds like an aircraft that has lost power.

Check the tension of the deck belt. See owners manual

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/502723/Husqvarna-Mz5425s.html

If the engine has oil leaks from the valve covers or crank seals be sure the belt is dry. If oil.

If belt has burnished it may need replaced.

Sharpening your garden pruning shears

Every so often you will find that your gardening shears just aren't up to snuff. This will usually be most prominent when it get really difficult to cut through even the weakest of branches. Cleaning and sharpening your pruning shears is very simple and can be done in a matter of minutes.

To start you have to make sure that your shears are clean. Its not difficult to clean them, you can use a cleaning solution like scrubbing bubbles to get the dirt off, you just spray them and wipe them off with a soft cloth. If there is a lot of dirt or rust on the blade you might need to use a wire brush or a piece of steal wool to get them clean.

When you are satisfied with how clean the shears are you will need to get a sharpening stone. Carefully using your thumb on the convex blade (the big side of the shear) of the shears find the beveled edge. This will tell you the angle that you should be using to run the stone along the edge at.

When you have identified the angle that you're going to use to sharpen at, take the stone in your dominant hand and in the other hold the shears open. Applying a little bit of pressure rub the stone in small circles. You don't want to over do it, just a few times should be enough to get the blade sharp again.

The beveled edge should be the only blade that needs to be sharpened. On the flip side of the balde you shouldn't need to sharpen because it should be flat. In the case that you run your finger along the flat side and you find a bump you can use your stone to just smooth it out.

When you are satified with how smooth the blade sides are you should put a little bit of oil into the joint of the blades and open and close the blades a few times to get the oil into the gears. And finally using a cloth wipe the oil up and spread it over the blades. Wiping the oil over the blades will help to keep them from getting rusty.

To make sure that are ready to use you can test them on a piece of shrubbery or you can just head back out to the garden and get to work!

I have yard work lawn mover runs with 24 v battery. its not running in full speed. and doesnt cut grass. its blades run at a very slow speed. do i have to change battery

I have a Green Works 40V which came with two Rechargeable batteries. I always keep one fully charged. The charge can dictate the power you are getting. Fully charge your battery. If that is not the cause, replace it. Examine the under side of the mover, with the battery REMOVED. Make certain there isn't anything in the way of the blades moving freely. Good luck.

My unit was leaking water in the house, so we tilted it back a little. Now it's not blowing cold air.

If you only tilted it 1/4" to 1/2", shouldn't have affected it's operation. Check the air intake filer to make sure it's clean. And while the front is removed to check the filter, look to see if any significant water remains in the drip pan. If there is, the drain hole of the drip pan may be clogged and needs to be cleared.

Hope this helps you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

Slow desk fan

The thrust bearing or ball is worn out or missing. When you tilt it, the motor shaft spins freely. When you set it down, the shaft goes to the rear and creates drag on the motor.
