You are going to have to try to dry out the refrigerant by replacing the drierd and pulling a good revaucuation on the unit after you replace the drier that are in the refrigeration lines .

How to solve unsafe suction pressure in chillar

Can you elaborate? What kind of a chiller is it? Recip, screw, centrifugal? Air cooled, water cooled? How many tons? What refrigerant? What are you considering to be an unsafe suction pressure? What’s the superheat and subcooling? EXV? TXV?

My point is, absolutely no way anyone can help a generic question on a complicate system such as a chiller.

Has anyone replaced a compressor relay on this chiller? Looks like it is not designed for replacement, but if it can be done with a generic relay I would like to know. Thanks.

The cost of one of those compressors is over $100. When you factor in tax and labor you're better off junking it. Its also possible you have a compressorless cooler called Peltier.

This compressor is in my aquarium water chiller. When I plug in the chiller, The compressor starts then goes off. a few seconds later it starts again then goes off. It continues to do this. I have changed...

The Freon is probably a bit low. When the compressor draws from the low side the extreme low pressure trips the low pressure switch, shutting down the compressor. With compressor off the pressure equalizes the low pressure switch opens and the compressor switches on. murf427

I have a ATLAS COPCO GA 160 w at my work and it is shutting down on high element temprature. I noticed that the oil level in the seperator is low and have topped it up a few times but everytime i run it...

Without more info or knowing your compressor my first question to you is,is the oil cooler clean and does the unit have good water flow. DO you have good water flow / pressure. The oil level should be about half way the sight glass running loaded. If the oil level was low ,when the thermostat opens it allows oil to flow to the cooler which lowers the oil level.Typical problems during this time of year are , , dirty oil cooler, Faulty thermostat, Faulty element temperature sensor, Low oil levels and bad oil. Also dirty oil filters restrict oil flow and can cause high element temp. problems. Try back flushing the water side of the oil cooler. Have you checked to make sure the water solenoid is opening. May have a bad coil or valve. May also have water solenoid plugged with something. What is the cooling water inlet temp and outlet temp. The W usually indicates water cooled. If not water cooled, most of the above also applies to air cooled units. just replace water with air if it fits.

Pressure only biulds to 50 PSI

Two things I'd look at first, the belt to see if it slips and check the water level in your tank, may need to drain it.

Part no. expansion valve of Air cooled chiller

On a chiller with semi hermetic compressors can have different types of thermostatic expansion valves for metering. As far as a number, you will have to go to the evaporator to look at the tx valve and get the numbers. It may be a single ported, double ported, be externally equalized or not. You have to get the copper line sizes in and out also if you are planning to change the valve out. The valve will also have the type of freon the system uses if for some reason the data plate is worn off. That's the place to always find out is the expansion valve. If you need information other then what I have given you, contact me and I will help you.

Air compressor won't build pressure

If this unit has what appears to be a pipe with fins on it , you may have a ruptured inter-cooler which will be leaking where you stated.
