How to find out password for startup on gateway sx2110g desktop computer

It sounds like a Bios or Hard Drive password has been set. This does not happen by accident, start asking everybody with access to the computer.

Black screen blue box saying

some one must have put in a boot password to your laptop,
follow this:
When booting up, enter your BIOS setup (usually by pressing the F2 key at the appropriate time).

Locate the BIOS Password section and turn the ON STARTUP password to off. There is no standard setup for BIOS, so I can't give you exact instructions.

If this does not work, try:
remove cell & start your pc you will here beep...beep...beep...

then turn off your pc & restore your cell.Start your pc and
password is removed.

there is a battery on motherboard,a button cell, you can try removing that and start computer, then put it back, bios settings will be lost.
you can also try removing any hardware like ram,if you have two, when system is off, turn on , it will prompt for changes , enter bios and try remove password.

I have an acer 57515Z series which my daughter put a password on startup on and forgot. After trying numerous times to get in the laptop now on start up comes up with Harddisk Security. Primary Master...

Ask your daughter. She set that password, and she needs to enter the password.

Otherwise, find the original sales-receipt, to prove that you (and not a thief) has possession of the laptop, and telephone ACER, and ask for help in bypassing the password.

My son set a password on a Dell computer and does not remember what it is. Is there a way I can bypass this and reset the password. It asks for a password on start up and has windows xp.

You can definitely reset the password for your computer just do the ff steps:
  • when the computer is starting up press F8 simultaneously
  • select safeboot when prompted for boot options
  • login as administrator
  • when you are on the main screen click start
  • select control panel
  • select USERS
  • select the username that you are using
  • click on remove password
  • then restart your computer
Hope this will help
Thanks

Forgot password

Hello,

On the Thinkpad's, it's a fairly easy process to reset the passwords. Try the following steps and you should be able to access the computer...

1. Power off the lpatop.
2. Flip the laptop over and open the Memory cover. It should have the diagram of a Dimm on it.
3. Short-circuit the two password pads or put a jumper on the contacts to short the circuit.
4. Remove the jumper, or whatever you used to short the password pads and put the cover back on the bottom of the laptop.
5. Power on the laptop and you should be fine.

My Acer Aspire 5050 asks for password at startup

If the password is the Windows password, the one with the userd icon displayed and Windows logo, then you need to reinstall Windows.

If instead the password pops up right when you turn on the computer, and it is a password with no user id, that pops up right at startup, that is the BIOS supervisor password, in that case to reset it you need to access the motherboard, to do this the laptop must be taken apart, and this job must be done at a repair shop , if you do not want to risk damaging the laptop.

Acer aspire 5050 asking for a password upon start up

If it is asking for a password upon startup then someone put a password on your CMOS. Unfortunately, unless you can find out what the password is, then the only way to clear it is to remove the battery in your motherboard. The battery is what keeps the information in CMOS when the computer is turned off.
