I have a Lexmark Printer X5495. After using it for several months and changing the ink cartridge several times with new not refilled cartridges, I replaced the cartridge with #28 and it will not print. I then used another brand new #28 cartridge and still it did not work? Message on printer directs me to remove the tape, realign the paper and press start. There is no tape on the cartridge????
Any ideas for me?
Sometimes
the ink cartridge carrier won't automatically move to its loading position even
when the printer is on and the cover is open. Follow the steps below:
1.
Unplug the printer from the power source.
2.
With the cover open, hold the solid white strip that connects from the carrier
assembly to the ink cartridge carrier and gently slide the cartridge carrier to
the center of the printer.
3.
Remove the used cartridges.
4.
Load the new cartridges. Close the cover.
5. Plug the printer back to the power source.
Remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and connect the Printer to be detected and installed. Check printer properties to see the ink levels.
Use head cleaning before a test is taken . press down the cartridges to contact before it is reset back to the PC.
