I have a 7" durabrand portable dvd player, i am trying to find out the polarity is for my player so i won't damage it when using this universal remote. I no longer have the manual. Please help
If you look on the casing of this device there will be (usually near the DC port) a sticker which not only tells you the voltage but should show you a diagram showing the polarity of the connector.
you can find this on almost any electrical appliance.

You should go to a local electronics shop with the old adaptor.
They merely need to match:
Voltage in
Voltage out
Current requirements
Plug size
Plug polarity (center positive or negative)
There is nothing "magic" about the original vendors power adapter.
gstew- Any electronics supply store should have one, just take in the old one and they should be able to match it .The output and polarity should be marked. They may even be able to test it,to see if its working. Many places will sell universal ones that should work. COOLtk Mar,03/08
