Removing a contact

When you remove someone from your contact list, you'll always appear offline to each other but you'll still be able to contact each other. To stop someone from contacting you, you'll need to block them.
To remove a contact from your contact list:

Sign in to Skype.
In your contact list, find the contact you want to remove. Right-click the contact name and select Remove from Contacts. Then confirm by clicking Remove.
The contact is removed from your contact list but will still appear in the Recent tab with a question mark. Click the contact name to see the options in the main window: Add to Contacts, Ignore or Block.

I take it that it is skype on an ipad mini, the first thing you do is go to people click on the contact once you are in the relevant person click on the gear wheel in the top right hand corner and then you can remove the person from contacts. Hope this helps.

Your user information, including your Contacts list and call log, is retained on your computer in case you should decide to try Skype again at a later date. These files can be found in "username/Library/Skype". Hi, you were probably using old version of Skype on the machine where you had your contacts?

if so then update Skype to the latest version on the machine where you have your contacts and it should automatically upload them to a server from which your contacts can be downloaded no matter which machine you use.

You can also try to copy any config which should be located in %appdata%\skype\TypeYourNickNameHer.

Hi, I'm having a problem with logging into skype since i've changed my skype name from my old skype name. I cannot get all my old contacts that i had on skype when I was using my old skype user name....

All your contacts etc are on the skype server.
If you want your old contacts, you will need to log in with that account.
If you dont have access to that account any more, your contacts are lost

All my contacts are gone

contacts are normally saved in config.sys and if your are on version 1.2. on Skype server

To be found in
C:
Documents and settings
Your profile name
Application data
Skype
Skype User name
config.xml

Be sure, that you can see hidden files! -->unhide

if this config.sys is corrupt and you can't use it ,
you must open it and extract the contacts manual

Phone not picking up contacts

Remove the batteries from the handset for at least 1/2 minute and reinstall them bach. This should work The contacts will show up again on tehe handset.
