My camera was in my purse when it fell on the cement, and I JUST used it to take a picture and it worked fine. I went to turn it back on, and the lens would not retract and I keep getting a LENS ERROR: 12 and an occasional LENS ERROR: 22. I have tried everything posted on here, and nothing is working. When the camera turns off and before displaying the LENS ERROR: 12 it makes a "clicking" noise. I think the lens "cover" is stuck.
Any ideas would be appreciated! Please and thanks.
(I have a 16 month old daughter, and I take pictures of her daily. So, having my camera work properly is really important.)
THANKS IN ADVANCE!
I have the exact same problem with my Kodak C330. One minute it is working fine, than I get Lens Error 12 or Lens Error 22, & when I try to turn it off or no I keep getting this clicking noise & now the Lens will not retract at all.I have the exact same problem with my Kodak C330. I dont think i dropped my camera yet the carmera is off andd the lens is out.
When I turn it on it starts out finewith the kodak screen then goes black, after that the kodak screen comes back and it says lens error: 12. What happpened and what should I do?I dont think i dropped my camera yet the carmera is off andd the lens is out.

I'm pretty much repeating what everyone else is saying, but hit the base against a hard surface. Don't be afraid to put some force into it! Even after you hit it, however, the lens is liable to jam, and you'll have to manually pull it out if you want it to work.
Nothing we advise you to do except semnd it back to Kodak to be fixed
Be warned it may be as cheap to write it off [claim your insurance] and buy another
If the camera has been dropped or exposed to liquid, it must be sent to a repair store. Your warranty has been voided and you must pay for the repairs. The cost will be more than the purchase price.

Hi there, after fall in the floor , your camera's lens guider is broken & thats why its not able to came out fully & not doing proper focusing. Replace the lens guide pin. After that it will work fine like before. Thanks.
Hope you purchased an extended warranty. I've had two Cannon's with the dreaded lens error. Probably what happened was that while it was in your purse, somehow the power button got pressed. The camera powered up, tried to extend the lens, then stripped the gears or broke whatever mechanism extends the lens. The sad part is that if it's not under warranty, it probably not worth dumping $100.00 + into fixing it. Too bad, it's a nice 8mp camera with some pretty good reviews. I feel your pain.
I had the same issue with my S210, so after reading other people's advice to send it in to Nikon and since that was going to probably cost me as much as the camera itself I figured it wouldn't hurt to try a little something. The lens on mine was a hair off center or had been pushed in on one side (barely - looking at yours you may be able to tell which side) - mine was in my purse also. So, I took my handy dandy skinny prying instrument (normal kitchen butter knife) took the battery out to make it try to open again, then when I popped the battery in as the lens tried to push out I pried the side I thought was a little lower back towards center...I heard a little pop and it worked! The lens came all of the way out and it's all good.
So, use gentle hands and try if you want, but don't think I warranty this!
Guess what I tried banging the bottom of my CW330 camera, as suggested by Timewarped, and the lens retracted and the "Lens Error 25" cleared. I can't believe it, you saved me about $80 in repairs. Thanks
