When I go to my computer it shows "local disk c:" is full (29gb) and "Lenovo D:" is empty (0 of 186gb). Is this right?
Also when typing on the keypad all of the sudden (without touching anything) the curser is suddenly moved and you are typing somewhere else on the screen--this problem is aggravating!
The cursor jump is probably because your arm or part of your hand is getting close to the touchpad.
I have the same problem.
You can toggle touchpad support by holding down the 'Fn' key and hitting 'F8'. (Fn+F8)
Don't forget to turn it back on when you want to move the mouse.
In regards to "local disk c:" being full. It sounds like your drive is partitioned into two logical drives.
You can use two methods in gaining space on C:.
The first option would be to move some of your documents from the C: partition to D:. (If you continue to save all of your files to C:, it will become full again.)
The second would be to re-size your C: partition using a tool such as "Partition Magic" in order to allocate some of the unused space on D: to C:. (This may take some time to complete. Make sure you are connected to AC power, you do not want your computer to go to standby or hibernate while changing partition sizes.)
Hope this helps.
In regards to the partition issue on the Lenove Y510, would deleting drive D leave me with one big hard drive?
What is the default partitions size for drive c and d of lenovo y510 ?
Yes, it is possible. All depends on how you have your hard drive partitioned.
Re. the curser moving while typing, think you are unknowningly touching the mouse pad with your thumbs. Pick em up, and this will cease to occure.

I have the same problem, and there are two cures for it, Lenova can maybe help you walk through how to change it by getting rid of the partition, if you call their tech support. My solution, is that I had to purchase all the discs from them, not bad, thirty bucks, but they should have given it out, it is three sets, one for the OS, one for the drivers, and one to eliminate that stupid partition. It was a good idea, but that C drive was way too small!
