Paper mismatch officejet 6500 crumples

I followed all the fix-it steps on the HP video for paper jams. In fact, did it twice. Still, as a piece of paper goes in it immediately crumples and is grabbed, thus causing another paper jam. I'm ready to throw it out the window!

There could be a foreign object or torn piece of paper that's stuck further inside the printer mechanism path. Try using a flashlight and inspecting any access or clean out hatches. Sometimes something will be caught inside and cause the paper you feed in to crumple and create a jam. I watched a video on youtube giving different ideas on how to fix this problem. SOURCE: Paper jam on HP officejet 6500

Try This :
Connect the printer directly to the wall outlet ; not through any Power strip
Then Unplug the Power cable from the back of the printer
Keep on tapping the power cable for next 30 seconds
Plug in back the power cable;
Open the rear access door and you will get to see some rollers
Clean the rollers with a Lint free cloth Moistened with some distilled water
Try to do a copy if still it doesn works
Then Unplug the Power cable from the back of the printer
With one hand press and hold down the (#) and the (6) button and with the other hand plug in back the power cable ; it will do a Semifull reset on the printer; This will take some time ; Follow the instruction on the screen;
If still it doesn't work then you need to contact HP ;
The toll free no. for HP would be : 1-800-474-6836
They will replace the printer for you free of cost (No Charge if the printer is in warranty i.e within 1 yr of purchase)

You need to replace either the pickup roller or the separation pad (or, optimally, both at the same time) - both should be removable without tools, they just snap in. You can order new parts at http://partsurfer.hp.com - shouldn't be more than $20 worth of parts. You can help reduce the problem slightly by roughing up the rubber on the pickup roller and the cork on the separation pad by scuffing both with a light grade of sandpaper, just to give it some tooth. But replacing them is best, it'll fix it!

Cannot print on regular letter size paper on my HP Officejet 6500A Plus printer. Gives me an error message saying Paper Size Mismatch, but it is the right paper for the print job.

I had same problem. Try this: When you go to print, change your ink quality to "draft". For some reason, I was able to print after trying everything. Hope this works for you!

How can i clear carriage jam

If you are getting a 'carriage jam' error as soon as you turn on your printer with no tasks in progress, then check for any piece of paper stuck in the carriage. Remove the paper carefully. If the paper tears, part of it might remain inside the paper path and damage the product.

Follow the steps for fix HP Printer Carriage Jam

  • Turn off the printer and open it to see where the paper is stuck.
  • Manually move the carriage toward the opposite side.
  • Check the paper path and remove any piece of paper or any other object that is stuck in the path.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.

Paper get jammed in the automatic feeder on top of my printer

3 possibilities.
1 If you use this macine to copy labels, there may well be a small piece of a label stuck in the paper path on the crumpled side. Or a small bit of paper.
2, the paper pickup on the crumpled side is 'polished', and no longer feeding the paper at the same time as the uncrumpled side. They can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol. Though that is a temporary fix and the paper pickups should be replaced if cleaning fixes the issue.
3 The fuser film has a tear in it on the crumpled side you need to rule out 1 & 2 before going to three again replaceable but a bit more difficult

Printer jams

Have you checked the paper path for anything which might be lodged there? A small crumpled piece of paper, paper clip, or even some broken piece of plastic from inside the printer itself. Are the rubber rollers extremely dirty/covered with paper dust? Depending on the design of the printer, one set of rollers may be spring loaded, and if the spring is broken, disconnected etc, the tension on the roller of course goes away. Anything like this will prevent proper paper movement through the printer
