Not too sure if you really need that dial 0 point, since the calls are already ringing in on the receptionist desk.

You can create changes and make a hunt group, with an over flow with another hunt group, which will rings specific people, and if there is no answer the over flow can go to a voicemail or auto attendant... more programming than I would like to type.

Simple solution: Make sure that everyone that you want to answer the calls, they are in the same pick up group.

Then if the people that you want to answer hears the phone ringing, they just have to dial Feature 75, this is group pickup.

To find out if the people are in the same pick up group:
-> go into the system programming
-> TERMINALS&SETS and enter the extension
-> find CAPABILITIES and enter
-> hit next till you find Pickup grp: this will have a number and ensure that all the sets you want have this same number.
-> rls to back out of programming.

This way anyone that hears the phone ringing can answer anytime they want.

My Extension Line Keeps flashing NEC DT400

Try 751 as the code. You can also try unplugging the main control box at the end of the workday for 10 minutes and plug it back in. This might remove temporary programming.

I have never heard of this 'hunt group' feature before.

How do we remove an extension from a hunt group in a Norstar Meridian M7316 telephone?

Hi Marty,
Don't worry about counting your way through. Just log into the system, and you will see Terminals and Sets. Press next until you see System Programming, then press Show. Next until you see Hunt Groups, and press show. You can pick the hunt group you're changing and delete the extension from there.

If you're not seeing what we tell you you should see, double check the model of your phone.

How do i cahgne the ring tone on the panasonic kx-t7565 phone. I have changed it but it only appears to have chagned if ring ring the number internally. we need the ring tone to change from external...

The ringtone for the CO or outside line buttons can be programmed by pressing program then press the
CO button twice, enter the ringtone you want by dialing 01 to 08, press enter or store then program to end. This will set the ringtone for that line assuming it is programmed to ring at that phone. Transferred calls will use the ringtone of the intercom button which can be set by the same procedure. Use the same procedure if calls ring to a Group Directory Number(GDN) on the phone. The 7600 series of digital phones have ringtone settings of 01 through 30.

I set up Hunt Group 1 (290) on a CICS, w/6.1 softewre with A Call Pilot 100 and assigned & initialized mailboxes for each Hunt Group member (222, 223 & 224) to FNA to Voicemail (227) after 4 rings....

Without having the programming manual on hand for this switch I have to generalize from other switches. Double check your auto forward settings within your hunt groups. It sounds like you have auto forward set wrong. If you have the voice mail set to engage on the 4th ring try changing that to engage on the 6th ring with the forward within a hunt group to forward to next available on the 3rd ring, see if that helps.

Program "Do not disturb" on business phone

It's pretty straightforward. You pick a spare button, dial FEAT 00 press the blank button (with a light) and press FEAT 01. There are considerations that I'll reproduce here.

Do Not Disturb (F01) 8
Use this feature to be able to press a programmed button to prevent incoming calls for the
extension from ringing (lights still flash). When Do Not Disturb is on, outside callers hear ringing
while inside callers hear a busy signal. You should use Do Not Disturb only if someone answers
outside calls for your extension when you do not answer them.
Considerations 8
Do Not Disturb is available only on system telephones.
Do Not Disturb requires a button with lights. When the Do Not Disturb feature is on, the light
is also on, indicating that the telephone will not ring.
■ Use Do Not Disturb when you do not want the auto attendant or the voice messaging system
to transfer calls to you.
■ Use Do Not Disturb if you are assigned to a Hunt Group and you leave your desk, so calls to
the Hunt Group will skip your extension and ring immediately at the next available extension
in the group.
■ To avoid missing calls when Do Not Disturb is not needed, turn it off.
■ If Do Not Disturb is active at a doorphone alert extension, the person at the doorphone hears
signaling, but the alert extension is not signaled.
■ Unanswered calls that are transferred from an extension with Do Not Disturb active ring at
that extension if they transfer return.
■ Extensions with Do Not Disturb activated do not receive Caller ID information, unless the call
is answered.
■ Users with Automatic VMS Cover Assigned or with VMS Cover turned on can activate Do
Not Disturb
to Send All Calls immediately to their voice mailbox.
■ Users with Call Coverage turned on can activate Do Not Disturb to Send All Calls
immediately to the covering extension.
■ You cannot use Call Screening (F25) when Do Not Disturb is turned on.

I have 3 lines they will not ring up when you are on the line no one can call they get a busy singal but the other line work when you dial that number

Hunt groups are set up by the service provider and not related to the phone system. In a 3 or 4 line hunt group, you're given a pilot number and 2 or 3 other lines. In some exchanges, you can dial any of the numbers and they will hunt to the rest of the numbers in the group....it's very rare. Instead, you must always dial the pilot number and each line is tested, with the first idle line being rung.

If your callers are getting a busy when the first line is busy and the other lines are idle, call the phone company and discuss your telephone plan. Tell them your lines won't hunt and they'll tell you why or fix it.

Trying to make every phone ring when the main phone rings

Well that is better than most people in finding the arrows...

Ok, first you need to know the extensions that you want to program to ring, and the lines, record these numbers... if you do not know the extension numbers and actual line numbers; going to each set, and doing a FEATURE * 0 and the Intercom and line buttons this will tell you the extension number and line number (this also tells you what is on every button).

Then goto your set and put in:
-> FEATURE 2 6 6 3 4 4
-> Password: 2 6 6 3 4 4

Now you will have to look at your LCD for 3 arrows
<- Heading....Enter->
<- Back .......Next->

You will not see these words in the LCD display, you just have to look for the arrows that correspond.

-> you will now see “TERMINALS&SETS” and press Enter (the top right arrow key)

-> now put in the extn that you want to change (Eg. 227).
-> you should now see the extension number “227: NAME”

-> press Enter (the top right arrow key) again
-> you will now see “LINE ACCESS

-> press ENTER
-> you will now see “LINE ASSIGNMENT

-> and Enter
-> now you can type in the lines that you want to ring on this extension (Eg. 025 for line 5)

-> hit CHANGE till it says "APPR&RING" (Appear and ring means that the line will have a button on the set)
-> hit NEXT to save changes
-> press FIND to look for more lines and change the appropriate lines to appear and ring
-> then the RLS button (the little orange button) to exit programming.

After this programming is done, dial Feature * 0 and look for these new lines.

Good luck.
