Try holding the cancel/off button for 10 seconds.
If that does not correct the problem you probably have a bad clock control from the power surge when power was restored.
"Clock" meaning the ERC Electronic Relay Control. The main motherboard control in the panel.
Before doing that, check for 220 volts at the cord in the terminal block and check each power leg to neutral for 115 volts each."Clock" meaning the ERC Electronic Relay Control. The main motherboard control in the panel.

After power cuts most ovens need resetting, for this reason 00:00 is flashing. The operation is described in the specific model's user manual. Most ovens reset either pressing or holding down for few seconds a Clear or On button, or holding down the main control knob.
Yes they do, these cutouts are situated on the inside attached to the outer cavity of the stove. If the outer cavity gets too hot, it cuts out power to the element (sometimes the whole stove) to prevent any damages. If the temperature then goes down, it then allows continuity to go through it again.
I'd suggest checking your temperatures with a digital thermometer (Can be purchased almost anywhere), it could be the start of a faulty Thermostat.

have you reset the clock? this needs doing after you lost power. i suspect you have it on auto
for jez-cath and wilana
in both cases, probably the fan element at fault.
it sounds like it burnt one of your main wires in the back of range. by turning a knob on you are getting a feed back. turn the power off remove back panel take a visual check of your wiring.
