There is a short circuit between the lower oven control and the lower element.
Disconnect the lower element. Put electrical tape on the loose terminals and turn the lower oven on.
If it does not blow, replace the lower element with a new element.
If it does blow, Check the wiring to the lower element for continuity to the frame of the range.
If you get continuity replace the damaged wire..
Finally, check the control knob switch for continuity to ground on the frame of the oven.

Neff u1661n2gb/05. main oven not working and shorts out electric when try to switch on. top oven works no problem

I had a problem similar. The bottom oven stopped working and the left hand set of controls and clock died. I had three figure quotes for repair. I took the main control unit out from behind the switches, its a pain to do. I took pictures of where the wires went to save confusion later. I removed the main switch unit from the control unit by gently pushing back the inbuilt plastic clips. dont loose the small white connector piece on the end of the switch shaft. I gently pulled the switch knobs from the front then the knob extensions through the same holes. once the unit was out I turned it upside down I could see where two solder tracks on the circuit board had burnt out. I gently cleaned them up and bridged the gap with two short tinned pieces of single core wire I had stripped. I used a soldering gun as it gets really hot really fast and wouldnt damage the components underneath. the only fiddly bit when putting it back together was locating the bottom edge of the control unit in the little gulley, I had to bend the edge of the gulley down to make it easier. Once it was all back together it worked. Half an hour and I saved £300! Now I have to fix the hinges on the bottom oven door as it doesnt shut properly at the top. Any ideas anyone?

Bottom oven is not working even though the top one is 720EF model

When you turn the bottom oven on, does the fan start to run in the oven? Do the oven lights come on? Does the main cooling fan switch on? Does the oven control knob illuminate? Does the thermostat neon illuminate?
As a guide, the power/control for the bottom oven is via the main switch on the front panel. Power then goes from the switch through the thermostat to the the oven/element/fan. The lights go direct from the switch.
I hope this helps.

Can you tell me how to replace a faulty switch on a Zanussi Electrolux ZCE5001X double oven. It's the switch on the control knob for the main oven.

Hello,
Under the control panel you will find 3 screws which holds a heat deflector plate, remove this plate remember position.then under this are some more screws for control panel, make sure power is off.take knob off main oven switch then pull panel forwards there may be screws in side of panel check for these. On the back of the multiswitch for oven is the oven thermostat it just pulls off if you prise with a screwdriver. Then remove the 2 screws holding the switch in place get new switch and wire for wire change over wires be very careful its easy to forget where they came from.Put all back in reverse as you took apart.

Hope this helped.

Neff B1641 Switched my oven on the other night it made a noise like a fuse blowing and went dead no lights no controls whatsoever i checked the power and i traced it all the way to the control panel...

check you have power at the clock - the clock terminals not the relay. if not, there is a cut-out stat in the back. check this is still ok. if there is power at the clock then the clock itself may be faulty. you can bypass the clock by joining the terminals to the clock relay and get the oven going this way. another common source of problems is the terminal block where mains comes in and is distributed. these terminal blocks often burn out.
