Had the TV for about 10 years with no problem. REcently - there was a loud pop and the TV picture and sound went off. When I turn it back on, it immediately clicks off.Had the TV for about 10 years with no problem. REcently - there was a loud pop and the TV picture and sound went off. I had that same problem, tv powers up then would shut off after (warm up)several minutes. I had it repaired (in shop). It turned out that one of the projection guns had a bad gasket and was leaking coolant oil which would drip on the circuit board below causing a short and turning the tv off.I had that same problem, tv powers up then would shut off after (warm up)several minutes. This tv have no colors wheel or projection lamp.Tv only have 3 CRTS tubes like R,G,B CRTS tubes guns.Problems of the tv?Will help u diagnose and replaced parts or telling should be repair by a tv Tech.
Hello. in VS models there is no such a thing as a lamp. Your TV have 3 CRT tubes (picture tubes) each of them dedicated to Green, Red and Blue part of image accordingly. It is not the part that you can easy replace by yourself and it cost new around $600 and just to refurbish existing one around $320. But you have to refurbish all three of them at the same time. So we are talking about $1000 just for parts, not to mention enormous effort to align everything back together. If you have bad CRT in your TV - I would advise just to trash it and invest in new one. Lamp is replaceable in DLP projection Mitsubishi TV and it is next generation of TV"s. Model number starts with: "WD". If you still insist on part number - I need to know what color of CRT you need - they have different part numbers. Best regards Russ.
You can order the remote for your model through www.tvrepairworld.com they can get any remote for any television. and the remotes dont require any programing since theyre designed to operate a specific model number TV.
Are there any other symptoms like blinking lights on the front or just no picture? This could be as simple as a few capacitors being bad or something more severe. Can you solder? Do you feel comfortable working inside the set where there are potentially dangerous high voltages present even with the set unplugged? Let me know and we'll work through the diagnostic process and hopfully resolve this.
It sounds like you have a problem in the 9 volt circuit which feeds the vertical output ciruit; CHECK C2P05 100 UFD 16 V OFF PIN 3 OF IC2P01 AND IC2P01 PART # 270P466020 (9-VOLT REGULATOR). BOTH ARE ON THE SIGNAL PCB.
This is not a repair that a novice should try, but if you call a factory authorized service center and have them come out and give you an estimate; AND tell them what the problem is, you will look know what you are talking about!
Is the power light staying on? If so press imput and menu together for 5 seconds to see if the set will blink a 2 digit repeating code. If that doesnt work. Check for CRT coolant leaks on the boards. This seems to happen alot as do faulty capacitors. Coolant leaks will be located on the chassis directly under the tubes they can cause corrosion and prevent your set from starting especially in the VS models.
I have a similar problem. I have tried to fix the convergence via the remote and that has not helped. My three colors are separated and the edge of the picture is bent in toward the center. I am going to try a hard reset but i suspect the convergence IC are fried. Since the set is not HD, I will probably replace it if the hard reset does not work.
