It sounds like you have an access control (allowed MAC address) list set up on your wireless router and have not added your Xbox 360's MAC address to the list.

Recent got the wireless usb adapter for my Dell Desktop. I have run the software and the device is detecting the internet but it keeps telling me there is a problem because it is unable to renew the ip...

Hello,

First, make sure that that wireless card is configured to obtain an IP address automatically, unless you are at work and they give you a static IP address. You can check the configuration by going to the properties page of the wireless adapter. You get to this page through Control Panel > Network and Internet(or something similar depending on version of windows) Right click on the wireless connection and go to properties. Right click on TCP IPV 4 and the settings should be set to auto obtain ip address.

If you are using a static IP address, then you have to manually type in the ip address in the window above.

Try the following to renew the IP address.

Turn off the cable modem, the router and your computer. After 10 seconds, plug in the cable modem, after 20 seconds, plug in the router, after 20 seconds, turn on your computer and see if this helps.

Another option to renew the ip address is the following,
Go to Start > Run and type "command" or "cmd"
Then type "ipconfig /release" once this is done type "ipconfig /renew"

If this helps thumbs up my solution!

Got a netgear usb wireless adaptor, it won't assign an IP address for this computer. Where do I set the DHCP to assign an address automatically?

Open Control Panel - Network Connections then right click on the Wireless Network (USB wireless adapter) and then click on Properties. Then in "This connection uses the following items" scroll down to Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) then click on Properties and in the General tab select "Obtain an IP address automatically" also select "Obtain an DNS address automatically" Then click OK

Please test the WiFi with a laptop or netbook, if Internet works with it, maybe you have bad settings into the wireless adapter, you could use the PC wireless connection parameters (SSID, IP address, subnet mask, gateway, DNS) as reference with the data obtained with the TV wireless adapter, the only difference must be the IP address, the rest must be the same since they're using the same network.

the work of a belkin adapter is to receive the wireless signal in and around the adapter when pluged into computer

start>control panel>network connection>rite click on wireless network>click properties>choose internet protocol tcp/ip (highlight it and click on properties) then "obtain ip address has to be checked"

then cllick OK and try going online --- u must access the internet

I cant conect to my dynex router with my new computer but is working for my old lap top

You must configure your wireless connection properties to "Obtain IP address automatically " and "Obtain DNS server address automatically"

also check your "wireless adapter"configuration
Or that you have the correct or updated wireless driver
Or that its "Enabled" and not "disabled"

Will not connect

If the connection is correct, make sure that the tcp/ip settings on your pc is set to OBTAIN IP AUTOMATICALLY. There might be a STATIC ip set on your adapter.

Belkin g+wireless mimo router

make sure your router is set at the correct transfer speed eg 54MBPS as your pc may only have a wireless adapter that supports 54MBPS as some run at 108MBPS. You may also need to check that the routers DHCP setting is enabled so as to give your pc an automatic ip address and also check your wireless adapter or card properties and on the TCP/IP line click properties again select obtain ip address automatically.

Problem conecting with the iternet.

Service pack 2 is a more secure version, but it shouldnt effect any internet settings, post back how you are connecting, eg router, wireless, wired. I suspect that when installed the ip address of your pc was altered to XP default, so you may have to go into the properties of your nework cards and ensure that obtain an ip address automatically is ticked, or better still use the wireless connection wizard if you are wireless and the network setup wizard if wired.

Connectivity

ok, clicking repair is a stupid setting that windows puts in as when you click it it immediately returnsyour pc's ip address to a windows default ip address which you router cannot read and therefore disconnects you. Go to your network adapter properties, right click on task bar icon on go to network connections and right click>properties TCP/IP line and click properties again then select if not already 'obtain ip address automatically', then ok it and close windows. If you are connecting through a router you need to get into the set up menu of ypur router by typing the router ip adress in your web browser(refer to manual for the address)and look for the conections menu and ensure your password and username is correct and make sure DHCP is enabled so as to give your pc an automatic ip address

Wpn 824 wireless issues.

if you have set up the wireless connection and enable it in the router, i assume you have disconnected the wired RJ45 cable to the pc, if not do so, as the pc's ip address is still being sent to the wired adapter and needs to be giving the wireless adapter an ip address itself as you cannot have two. Either remove cable or dissable the wired network card and ensure you enabled DHCP in the router settings to automatically give the pc an ip address, ensuring that thw wireless card is also set to obtain an ip address automatically in the TCP/IP properties of the wireless network adapter.
