Black screen on HP PL4260N 42? Plasma HDTV

If your TV is plasma the only part you need to replace or check is y sustain board..You should replace it to work fine again

Try to unplug the cable and the TV for about 1-2 minutes. Then plug it in. Turn on the cable first, wait til its on then turn on the TV. it should work.

your zsus board is failing replace it and the fuzzy screen will go back to normal

Y Board is out. The boards costs about $150 and easy to install.

What is the last thing that happened before this problem occured?

To bad it is off warrenty

your tv has one the Y buffers defective.which half is black,the botton or the top? i believe that you have to call the repairman .

I had the same problem and HP has been very helpful, try calling this number 877-917-4380 ext. 79 and be firm tell them this needs to be fixed. They are sending my second replacement part and said they will keep sending parts till it works, this tv is almost 3 years old.

Just to update this issue, HP has now agreed to replace my plasma free of charge, they dont know how to fix it and after a couple of tries they gave up and I'll get my new one next Friday. For all of those trying , keep trying and don't give up, don't take no for an answer.
