Hi,
I want to tell you that this router is a ADSL router and it will only work with the adsl line or you can say through phone line. You required to connect adsl filter in order to use this router. This router will not work if you are using the with any kind of modem. Beacause this router is already have inbuilt modem as well as it will performs all functions for the router. So with this router you dont required any other modem. But still if you want to use this router. The only ways is make it as a access point so that you can use this router as a access point and it will broadcast the signals to your wireless computers.

I believe this information will help you to resolve your query.

Thanks & Regards
Jaspreet Singh Saini

This indicates that router can't detect cable modem or this is unresponsive, probably your modem is logically tied with your PC (MAC address associated), that's why when you connect them directly work fine, if this is the case, you'll have to clone the MAC address of your PC into your router, this should be at Setup Menu, Manage MAC addresses option.

My router wont configure

Plug in the laptop to the router and the router to the modem. Power cycle the modem. Turn on power to the router. Copen a command prompt on the laptop and type 'ipconfig /all' and press Enter. Look for your IP address (should have been assigned by the router and should look like 192.168.1.x). Also look for the default gateway. It will probably be 192.168.1.1. If that is the case, you should be able to use your web browser to connect to the router to check its configuration and the WAN status by typing in the address 'http://192.168.1.1' (or whatever was displayed for the default gateway previously.

Conecting netgar wpn824v2 to cable internet

what exactly do you plug directly in the wall? what kind of connector does it use? an 'f' connector on a coax cable or RJ45 (like a phone plug? if you are using a cable connection you have to have a modem for that to work. if you are using a Ethernet cable tied directly to a jack on the wall you'll have to be sure routers are allowed to connect. or register the router with your provider. be sure your wireless router is getting an address form the internet provider. with out more details i can't give you any more specifics.

-good luck-

I have a belkin wireless g router model no f5d7230-4 and when i use it with my ntl broadband modem model 08004eu it causes my internet connection to keep going off, when i phone ntl they tell me to...

On and off at what rate? Every few seconds? Every few hours?

Does it cause the internet light on the modem to go off, or just the internet connection in the computer?

If you're using it wirelessly, what adapter in the computer? How far is the computer from the router?

(The router should work with any broadband modem.)

Ntl:Home Compatibility

When you say the networking is fine, I assume that you can connect all wireless devices together and access the router menu on IP 192.168.2.2 (refer page 23)

Is it possible that when you connect the router to the modem that both are trying to assign an IP to the other?

My router is set to get it's WAN IP from the modem (it's a d-link though)

refer to the manual on page 28- try setting the WAN/internet setting to dynamic. You should leave the host name blank and not clone the MAC address.
