My daughter was trying to load a game. The game was taking too long to download and wouldn't stop so she pulled the battery out of it and unplugged it. Now when you get on it it goes to the Error Recovery Screen. If you choose the Launch Startup Repair it goes to Windows Boot Manager Screen with error message Status: 0xc00000e9 Info: An unexpected I/O error has occurred if you hit enter to continue it goes back to the error recovery screen. If you select start windows normally it goes right back to the Windows Error recovery screen. If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know. All the answers I've seen on line say to download different things I can't download anything if I can't boot my system up or I don't know how to. I also do not have a cd/dvd drive on my computer. I would have no problem wiping off everything and reloading Windows if I knew how. Please Help!!!
You should be able to do a clean install of Windows. Just insert the installation disc and press any key when indicated. Optical drive needs to be the first boot option. Go into BIOS and change it is not.
As for disc, you have to use the same Windows version as indicated on the MS Product Key sticker, because of the serial number.

Hello and thank you for using Fixya's services.
The only option here is to restore your computer to factory settings. You will lose all of your information including pictures, music, etc.
Are you running Windows Vista? If so, turn the computer on, press F4, choose advanced and you will see the option to do a factory restore. You can aslo try the other options first such as windows restore and it may fix the file.
Last resort is the factory restore but you are at that point.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
