SOURCE: message waste cartridge is empty / not installed at xerox 6100

Hi,

For this machine I don't think there is a reset, but it is tempormental about the light that shines throught the back of waste cartridge.

Copy and paste this link directly into your address field, and see if you have it inserted correctly and then reboot.

SOURCE: replace waste cartridge on Xerox Phaser 7400

I just fixed mine. You need part #604K47890 Gear Coupling Assembly Kit. Cheapest I found was $6.99 at www.sparepartswarehouse.com plus $13.95 s/h. Remove the waste cartridge & you can see the white plastic gear. I tried to disassemble the printer (using service manual) in order to replace this part. Good luck. It looks like you need to take the WHOLE thing apart. Easier method is to get a drill or dremel & grind away the thin metal to make the whole slightly larger. Just be careful with the dust/particles. I did this & it worked perfectly.

SOURCE: Waste Cartridge Full

The optical sensor looks at a small compartment, that has clear walls; when the waste toner gradually fills the container, it eventually reaches the level above a "wall" between the main container and this small compartment, spills inside and makes not transparent anymore. Some toner might have gotten there and the sensor gives a false full signal. You can get rid of it by cleaning this compartment with compressed air.
Obviously, the sensor might be plain broken as well, but the above is perfectly true - it saves the day when the printer stops and we don't have a new waste container... I pour out the toner and clean the inside thoroughly with compressed air, especially that small look-through compartment.

  1. Try to put the orginal one back in place if that works then you might not have gotten the right one or you might have a defected one. Compare the used one to the new one to see if anything has changed.
  2. also make sure the print cartridge assembly is well screwed down 116-1197-00. also make sure you don't have any wires jamed in the print cartridge assembly
  3. Also make sure the waste cartridge full sensor is in place and not damaged and make sure the connecters are connected well . 116-1299-00
  4. Finally if you have installed new developers into the machine you might have not placed them properly so you would have to reinstall them again. 116-1115-00

What is Error 20 on Xerox Phaser?

Error 20 is an error code in Xerox laser printers which indicates interior hardware damage.
This printer problem usually occurs after the installation of new parts or supplies. It means the installation was not done correctly or a part is already worn out and needs replacing.
Here's what to do when Error 20 Code appears on Xerox Phaser 6500. When this error code appears, one of the first things to check is the toner level.
It might be too low to print with the consistency that it requires replacement. If you have replaced the toner cartridge and the error persists, reinstall the cartridge.
Turn off the printer wait for a few seconds before turning it back on.

How to fix the waste toner cartridge error on a xerox 6505DN printer

Hi, check out the forums on this model, but you will be frustrated.

This is usually an error when a non-Xerox certified toner cartridge is used. If you can, try to get an original Xerox toner cartridge and see if the error clears. If you know someone else who has a working cartridge you can use that, to see if the issue clears.

Changing waste container

The is no waste container on Phaser 6500. There is a "waste collection box" in every toner cartridge and the waste toner is discarded along with the empty cartridge. The is also a waste toner reservoir on the transfer belt and this one will be replaced along with the transfer belt.

If there is an error message saying, for example, "Waste Full Cyan Cartridge", it means the waste toner counter reached the replacement value for that color and you have to replace the corresponding cartridge. But the waste collection box is not really full.

Hello, we have a Xerox Workcentre 7545, the waste toner cartridge needs replacing but we don't have the part yet. Can I manually empty the cartridge in the meantime so we can still use the machine? ...

If you can remove the waste toner cartridge go ahead and empty it out manually. Make sure that it is completly clean out. I use compressed air to flush out any residue.
