Dacor gas range igniter clicking

After my house was cleaned, I turned on a burner; the burner turned on, but the igniter for each of the three other burners started clicking. This happened whenever I turn on any burner. Then, at some point, all four of the igniters started clicking even when no burner was turned on. At the moment, my only solution has been to cut off the electricity to the range by tripping its circuit breaker.

Ours just started doing this, too. It's an older oven, but when we lifted the stovetop, we can see the igniters on both sides firing and clicking, even with all 4 burners turned off. We flipped the circuit breaker, but it started again once we turned it back on. We'll try the wire-brush cleaning. This is sooo annoying. Any other suggestions?

WE have had the same problem.  WE use one burner more than the others adn that one continued to click intermittently after ignition.  No the problem seems to have spread to the other burners.

The igniters for our burner will not stop clicking. The only thing that stops the clicking is when we turn off the circuit breaker.

I will clean off the igniters and see if that works. I am nervous about the gas supply. Is this a dangerous situation?

I have the same problem. When I take the nob off and tap on the microswitch near the valve. It stops. But, the next time I use the burner is starts all over again.

I came home the other day from work and all four ignighters where clicking; totally annoying. I used a fine sandpaper and lightly sanded the ignighter tops (the grey part, not the white part) sides and top) and it fixed the problem

I did have the same problem after the house keeping people done with cleaning. They used window/surface cleaner. First I asked them not to clean the ignitor with any cleaner. Here is what I did to solve the problem
I took scotch scour pad (one that you use for washing dishes), In dry state I polished ignitor switch. It is abrading the residuals and deposits on the top and polishing it. Don't use any thing more abrasive than that. MAGIC - I don't have any more problem.

I have one of these ranges too. This happens to all of them. EXTREMELY annoying. The problem is probably that cleaning fluid/water/materials break the contact between the metal parts. Solution: Take a wire brush and clean the igniter tip. Also brush the removable ring and the flat burner top, as well as the ring below these (the one coming out of the stove top.) You may have to do this several times -- brush every surface near the igniter tip. Then, turn on the burner and let it burn for 10 minutes or so. Sometimes the burner will not light even though the igniter is clicking. Light it with a match and let it burn 10 minutes.

I had clicking after the burners were burning. Problem was that I'd removed the inner ring during cleaning and did not put it back properly. There are little nubs that must be lined up properly. If you don't, ALL the burners can start to act wonky when you try to ignite them. Problem solved.

Gas burner continues clicking after on and flame active.

many ovens are made to click like that and nothing is wrong with burner oven, its a safety measure to let you know gas is on or escaping. I f you turn the knob bac or forward a little bit it will go off and flame will still burn. Other words you may have a dirty spark igniter , see pics

Dacor cooktop igniter clicks but burner does not ignite. This is true for all burners. after repeated attempts the burners will start - What can I try?

Take a hairpin or a toothpick and clean the hole near the igniter so that the maximum amount of gas can flow to the spark is what I would try.

One of the burners on my Dacor 4 burner gas cooktop no longer ignites automatically, it just continues to spark, but it will light with a match. Is this something I can fix myself, and if so, what should I...

Electric gas igniters sometimes get stuck in one position causing a clicking sound. The clicking sound that you hear is the electric arc that is pulsing from the igniter conductor (wire) to ground (the gas burner). It receives power from the electrical outlet that the stove is plugged into.
Residue from food and sometimes cleaning products may be preventing the igniter from producing a spark (Arc) to the base of the burner. This is a common problem that occurs when the stove has been cleaned or food is allowed to build up. Make sure that the igniter and the burner base are clean and dry. This will help with proper operation. Oven cleaner and a small tooth brush may be used to accomplish this. Another problem with ignition may occur if you have too little (touching) or too much space between the igniter and the base of the burner; it will prevent the burner from igniting. You should only have a little more space than the thickness of a nickel between the burner base and the igniter. A good “blue” arc from the igniter to the burner base is optimal. If this doesn’t work, you may need to replace the electric igniter module. Good luck.

Our Dacor gas cooktop igniter won't click. When I turn on the burner, you can hear the gas coming out, but no click so the burner won't lite.

Go to RepairClinic.com and check on how much a new igniter is. Is there two or 4 igniters on your model (lift the top of the range up and it is the little silver piece sticking out with a white base around it), If its 2 is the other side working? Make sure there is no food deposits around where the gas and the spark meet.
