Iriver H10 20GB - i can't access my music through Artists or Albums

Hi. Please help me!!! I have never had a problem with my iriver, up until now. I have just added 2 new albums to my iriver via Windows Media Player as normal, and then when I disconnected from the computer and tried to access my music on the iriver through 'Artists' I noticed that my library was scrambled and no longer in alphabetical order. Then I clicked on one of the artists and none of their albums were showing up. For some of the artists when i clicked on them it just took me straight back to the main menu. I then went into 'Albums'and tried to access the albums, but when i clicked on them it again just took me back to the main menu. The only way I found to access my music was to view the entire list of songs! Please help me get my iriver back to normal without losing all my music!

    I had the same problem - now I simply go in through the browser...

    I have a similar problem, my player does not recognize the new albums I have put on to it... the window I use to "drag and drop" my files on to the device clearly shows the files as there, but they do not show up on the actual device.
    I have tried the "database refresh" option, and the device will recognize the files I have deleted but not the new ones I have added.. any idea?

    Sorry, through looking through the options on my device I have found the new files I have added under the "Browser" heading in the main menu.. but not in the "Music" section of the main menu.. any idea why they went to "Browser" instead of "Music" and how can I fix it?

Have you tired doing a "Database Refresh". It's located on the main screen under "Settings". Go to Database Refresh and check "Yes". How much music you have on your player will determine how long the refresh will take. If that doesn't work possibly run the Firmware Updater from iRivers' web site and only update the database, do not do a complete "Recovery" or all of your music will be erased as that choice reformats your hard drive. Only choose "Update Firmware"

Yo Man it may just mean they are the wrong file type. Check what file types are compatible with the device and then convert them. The best way of converting a file type is FormatFactory. GOOD LUCK XD

When I press

it's because the iriver doesn't reconize the artist. the artist name, album etc is set in the file's info. you can write that info yourself so the iriver can reconize it. for example I opened Winamp, imported the songs I wanted in my iriver, right clicked on the the first songin my list, selected FILE INFO and went on and completed the artist field myself. did the same to every other song....and now the iriver reconizez the artists.....it takes some time indeed...and I don't know of any other easyer method that works.....but this one surely will. good luck :)

Files in Iriver H10 not appearing in music.

try this...

connect your h10 to the pc using the ums trick with the usb connection..
For 20 GB MTP Models
  • Make sure your H10 is turned off and disconnected from the computer.
  • Poke the "reset" button with a paperclip.
  • Turn on the hold switch (so that you don't accidentally turn the H10 on all the way).
  • Plug the H10 into your computer.
  • Turn on the H10 while holding the "O" button.
  • You will see the message "Emergency Connection" if you have done everything correctly. You can now let go of the "O" button.
download and run EASYh10 software (free playlist maker). It will scan the files in your music folder and build/save a playlist to your h10.
disconnect player and give it a try...

Screen freezing

instead of going to music go to browser and acces your music through their...i had the same problem and this worked out fine....i think its just a bug
